Etsy announced that starting August 2023, All images in etsy shop will be displayed to square format.

In this tutorial, you'll learn ways and methods to batch/bulk resize your etsy images to square format.
Currently Etsy follows 4:5 image aspect ratio. But now they will be switching to square 1:1 aspect ratio. As per their experiments, square images convert better. So change your Etsy listing images to square.
