    Yeah, exactly. For the most part wolves are every bit as gentle as any dog. They just have a hunting instinct most dogs have largely lost. We aren't prey animals to them, so unless there is a reason for a wolf to attack, illness, defense, encroachment of territory, feeling trapped, wolves will normally be cautious around humans and mostly avoid us. They are not naturally aggressive.

  • @a_diamond

    @a_diamond

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@Angiesunshine13 they are not *extremely* territorial. Their territories are encroached upon by humans all the time, they try to avoid us until they can't anymore. Then when they try to hunt our livestock, or try to steal trash out of our garbage, we call them aggressive. Where exactly are they supposed to go? They are *not* extremely territorial, they are just running out of places to go where we aren't.

    I had an amazing encounter with a juvenile wolf in the Rocky Mountains when I was 10 years old. He baby sat me until dark sitting about 10 feet away from me for hours. The entire story is long and the end still gives me goosebumps. I also had a direct run in with a bull elk during that same camping trip. Close enough my tiny hand was right next to his large hoof. I'll never forget those experiences because there was something undeniably spiritual about them.

    @James Rhodes wolves have a right to be in the park. When you remove predators prey numbers explode. New York found that out when they trapped and euthanized the feral cats. Rats started biting people and people started catching bubonic plague again and this was only a couple of years ago. When they left the cats alone rat numbers went down. If deer and elk aren't controlled they eat everything and transmit disease. Humans can't control deer like wolves do. Humans have a certain season they can hunt. Wolves hunt deer and elk 24/7. You can't tell me there are no prey animals in Yellowstone. My cousin was there 2 months ago and filmed large numbers of deer and elk everywhere.

    I live in Belgium and wolves used to be extinct ever since they'd been hunted to extinction centuries ago in this part of Europe. But a couple of years ago, one or two wolves were sighted in Germany and one ended up being allegedly sighted in Belgium. It was unsure for months if the wolf was actually here, and if it indeed was, if it was going to stay in the country or if it was just migrating through Belgium to another country... but after a couple of months of people speculating, the sightings were confirmed and experts found out it had established its new territory here. Farmers weren't really ok with it at first, but we didn't hear about it for too long. I'm so excited that wolves are coming back here!! I hope the one that was confirmed will get to meet with other wolves at some point and repopulate our forests with more wolves!

But it isn't due to any light amplifying structures in the human eye. It's the result of photo flash reflected back from the eye illuminating the retina. We call it "red eye".

    My grandma had a wolf dog pup for many years! He was part grey wolf and part albino German shepherd, my grandma's neighbor's german shepard mated with a female wolf. The wolf dogs mom got killed one winter and he was the only one to survive, he slept under his siblings in my grandma's shed. My grandma heard the pups every morning and see the mom wolf but didn't go down, until that morning she didnt hear the pups so she found and raised Thor. He was a bit bigger then his dad and one of my best friends, he passed away when I was 15. I'm 32 now and miss my best friend still.

    My aunt adopted a wolf hybrid no one else wanted. He was freaking massive. He wasn't at all aggressive, not even a little, but he wasn't super affectionate either. I would describe his personality as serious. Trying to get him to fetch was an absolute lost cause. I'll never forget the look in his small, steely yellow eyes that were sooooo different from my cocker spaniel's big friendly brown ones when I threw a tennis ball once and told him to go get it. 🤣 He had no time for my bullsh*t. He warmed up to people as he got older tho and towards the end of his life, he was a big old cuddle bug. RIP, Wolfie. (Yep, that really was his name). She also adopted a coyote hybrid that I accidentally brought home off the reservation. (I thought he was just a regular dog😶). Now that beast was joyful, loving, and energetic as all heck. Oh, how he loved people, especially kids. If he wanted to lick your face, there was nothing you could do to stop him, I don't care how big and scary you were. He, too, had zero aggression and was 100% un-trainable. What a nut. RIP Odie. (Yep, that was his real name, too). Moral of the story? Hybrids make excellent friends, but they make terrible pets. You'd better believe you'll be at the mercy of their personality, they will not be at the mercy of yours. Unlike the friendly lab down the street, they won't give a rat's fuzzy a** if they please you or not. My aunt had a big farm where she could just let these guys exist however they wanted to exist while keeping them contained, but if you try to keep one in your home and train him or her like a dog, you can kiss your security deposit---and the friendly lab down the street---goodbye.

If mistreated, in terms of beatings they can be vicious! In terms of working with these amazing creatures, I have only ever seen 3 that had to be put to sleep! Worked with over 300 of these mixed wolves! Incredibly intelligent!

    Thanks for making this video. These animals are so beautiful and the very essence of loyalty as they protect their pack with their own live. Even the omega in the pack is not left behind (as far as I know, but I am not an expert) and that's just admirable. Their howls give you the chills and although they are wild animals and can be dangerous, as long as a human doesn't threaten them they are friendly and shy. I really love them and for me they are the symbol of a good family. They sometimes fight each other, but at the end of the day they won't let each other down no matter what. I could fanboy like this for hours sry ^^

    Wolves are actually way better to there family members (pack) then we humans are to our family and friends. In fact, it's so beautiful, it really does just how soulless and evil human beings are, especially since it's the human beings that are, poisoning, trapping, Ariel shooting and wolf knapping the pups from there send and torching the pups until the the rest of the pack find the pups, and when they do the entire pack has walked into an ambush killing if the entire pack. Yes we humans are absolute evil ruthless killers not wolves! #wolflivesmatter #defenderofwolves #humanrshit

    The most beautiful, loving species of canines.. Wild yes, but very gentle around each other, good parents, and if put to them, would avoid people. One of absolutely best canines ❤️.. Wild, and should be respected.. 😍
