Thanks Bro, followed that link to nirsoft and it looks like this software will help me to use the rest of the tools listed there as USB based developers tools, too. (kinda preliminary but I am excited) I am not a coder or systems tech or anything formal; I am an old guy catching up on how to maintain and secure my computer and my life but I am quite the auto-didact and sure will make use of this well presented tutorial and tool-kit. Thanks again, I will share this on social media as well as having it on a playlist on my channel and in my "liked" roll. I gotta go transfer some files and format a flash- drive.

Hi thanks for the video very use full on installation my internet security blocked verius things would this be a problem or should i uninstall nirlauncher deactivate norton and reinstall nirlauncher again or is there a easier way around this as some applercations fail to load

My 32-bit Fortran compiler produces good DLL files on my Win XP machine. I am now using the same compiler on Win 7 (in emulated Win XP mode). The compiler works well except that the DLLs that I produce can't be found. These very same DLLs are easily found when moved to my XP machine. Is there a video to help me with this?

Hi, Brian, I tried to download it with Chrome and it flatly refused to download it, not even giving me the option to ignore the warning. someone must have spiked the site with malware at some point, I will try other browsers.

Thanks Brian :-D Yep nirsoft is a dam good producer of utils :-) Some of his utils dont seem to work too well on my old system, others work brilliantly. One i like is the one for showing all the usb devices ever used, and info/serial numbers are shown :-), serviwin was good as well, i do like task/process managers.

Something you should review, if you haven't already is LIBERKEY. A must have on my USB. My Liberkey file is 5gb and almost 300 programs.

wow. knew about nir sofer tools but this Nirlaucher is great. thanks Britec09 for sharing. Be sure to right click on an utility > Run As Administrator , so the utility would be able to make changes in Registry when needed...otherwise some utilites won't work!

I can see at about 13:45 that SearchMyFiles is on the NirLauncher list, and that's one of my personal favorites. If I knew I had a text file containing notes from a conversation with someone named John, SearchMyFiles will allow me to specify *.txt as a file wildcard, John as a search string, C:\ as the base folder, and leave everything else in default settings, it will search through every text file on my C: drive and its subfolders, looking for and text file that contains "John" either in the file name or in the text of the file itself. For me, that's a great alternative to searching through hundreds of folders and thousands of text files manually. Windows Explorer in Windows 98 and earlier versions used to have that ability but Microsoft "fixed" it for the worse.

Tried to install today but Avast Internet Security 2015 detected as malware and blocked the install.

Britec09 True. Although the main ones are Process Monitor and Process Explorer and for anyone interested, if they search for "The Case of the Unexplained - Mark Russinovich". They'll find his teched videos of him using the tools with real world examples :) He asks if people have the time and fix an issue with those tools, to document it and send him the details and he collects them for his talks. I've sent him a couple of them, not seen them used yet :(

Nir soft contains key loggers, key readers, password reset software, thus, antivirus sees it as potentially unwanted soft. There are some debates about Nir soft package, it is deemed to be half legal soft, however, it is just someone's opinions. Vast Majority of techs find nothing dangerous in the package in fact even useful.

Bonsaverh My antivirus goes mad on some utils, they are safe, antivirus is a bit touchy with program coding, dont panic :-)

Downloaded it and my anti virus aborted it because it said it was infected with malware.

+josue betances most anti-virus programs are programmed to block malware... this is why millions of folks rely on Norton 360.

The ZIP File, is not helpful.

Britec09 Well, I tried winrar, peazip, and an online extractor at the time and finally dld 7zip for giggles. That's why I posted above to use 7zip. But jeez that was somewhat obscure.

Avast detected it as malware and blocked it :P not worth destroying my computer...

Joshua Dedic it's probably a false positive you should go to virustotal to uploaded and check to see if your PC is actually catching malware
