Went from weird motorcycles to highly desirable motorcycles halfway through.

Back in those days planned obsolescence wasn't a thing... I can imagine some of those bikes been actual tanks.

I live in a beach town that has several bike weeks. I thought I'd seen them all, but last week I looked over at a stoplight and saw the topper. A guy had used plywood and ropes to build a "sidecar(?)" that allowed him to drive his wheelchair onto it and had ropes operating the clutch and hanle bar on left side, but he could reach right side. His desire to ride was way over his wallet, but I really admire him. He didn't let a little thing like no legs stop him getting into the wind! I just hope it stayed together. I worried ,because it looked like part of a chicken shed and not really sturdy looking. 😂 Good luck,bro!

There is no mention of the Henderson art deco motorcycle? It is way cool looking. There also the TRON light cycle replica which is way cool.

I don’t ride motorcycles because I’m just too accident prone but I can really appreciate the beauty of these rolling pieces of art. Some of these bikes are amazing & some are outrageous.

I’ve been riding since ‘92. I tend to take an ambassador role insofar as while I wish all could share the wonder of the experience I do accept and respect it’s not for everyone.

quite the hodge podge .... most are decent bikes, MV-a the Ducatis, the Guzzi, Majestic, J-1, the Mozozokus, even the Boomerland 600 i consider decent. but the Horrors. ( if you can't safely ride it ) .... though then appreciate only as art.

I would like to point to the Megola or to the DKW Lomos, or the Pitty Scooter.

I still think that 916 is the most beautiful sportbike created....😳🥹 I do love the ZX7rr, CBR900rr, RC51, '97R1....but that style 916 is just mouthwatering. (748, 996 etc as well)

I loved my 1003 Suzuki 750GSXR! The carburetors are much easier to deal with than the fuel-injected bikes! I put 10s of thousands of miles on her, she never left me stranded! I've limped her home, but she never died on me! I got married on her too! My hubby rides the Honda CX's. We got married at a track day! Her name was Miz Pink.

@@monukasilverclaw4137 Personally, I hated the Robin but the narration about the Robin annoyed me. "Steering wheel falling off". No more likely on a Robin than any other car, it is held on in exactly the same way as 99% of cars. I.E. a bloody big nut, done up very tight. The narrator ahs watched too much Top Gear and believed it. Berk!

I ride! I also lived in Japan between 1988-1992 and the motorcycle gangs were called "Yankee Gangu" They ride through the streets at the slowest speed possible without tipping over and revving their engines as loud as possible, past the revv-limiter over and over going through the neighborhoods after dark and into the 4:00am hour. It was illegal but because these gangs were so large (anywhere from 20-80 bikes in one gang) the police just basically escorted them through the city. They didn't stop at the stop signs or red lights either My husband at the time, who is Japanese would freak out if I drove through them if I had a green light. (Very carefully, of course, I didn't want to hurt anyone) I thought, screw these little punks; I didn't understand how dangerous they really could be. I guess we got lucky. (I was kind of a punk myself back then with my attitude, LOL.) Wow, the memories! (I'm 53 now)

it's like a H-D rider slow and loud mockery or something....they know they make the best bikes, all around in most ways .... but my Sporty is pretty quick, those old engines have a lot of room for race type tweak modifications, to bring up the power.......H-D product evolution sort of stalled out....it used to be we where right on top of the game all the time, and constantly exploring innovations....it's difficult to explain what happened here since the war....no one in milwaukee was expecting that, and it was completely out of our control....i want milwaukeee back, i am tired of this....that african heroin has got to go, or they can let their children starve to death here too.

the augusta magni is a nice bike!!! too bad they ended up covering that beautiful engine!!! that was a real shame imo!!! But then there is that GORGEOUS Ducati 916!!! pure poetry on 2 wheels....what a beautiful machine!!! and if i was a rich man,,,i would surely have one in my bedroom with direct access to my own little race track!!! ONe of the most beautiful motorcycle ever made!!!

It's "tricksy" for native English language speakers, including us 'merkans... It's pronounced more like "R-wha", but just one smooth sound, one syllable.

This bloke is yank, probably never heard of New Zealand or John Britten. A beautiful machine to look at and sounds fantastic at full noise down the straight at Eastern Creek. Also I hate the way yanks miss pronounce most things.

There is no mention of the Lotus motorcycle? It should have been listed instead of the Reliant Robin, which is a car instead of a motorcycle.

When they were made in Tamworth, they were classed as a motorcycle in the Dis-United Kingdom by the authorities. THEN, the definition of a motorcycle was "A vehicle with less than four wheels and weighs less than 8 and a 1/4 hundredweight". That definition has now changed effectively, but older riders can still drive what is now seen as a 3-wheeled car on their motorcycle licence if they passed a bike test many years ago and older car-drivers who passed a test years ago can ride a motorcycle style trike on their older car licence. Thanks for mentioning the Lotus motorcycle; I'd not heard of it before. Interesting.

that unicycle makes zero logical sense....how do you speed off or slow down??? you know...the fun part of riding motorcycles...or lean to a nice long even turn with a nice lean into it? just seems totally useless to me!!!

Ducati 750ss ....i like retro, but it's gotta at least have good brakes and handle decently......i guess i would go for a Majestic or Boomerland 600 if it was a "money in the bank" investment.....but i can't afford dead garage space..

By modern standards that Ducati design is very disproportionate and weird mix of curves and straight lines oddly meshing together with bogus "woman body" narrative! You call wrong, impractical & ugly....i see stride of imaginations & experiment to see things beyond cookie cutter monotony of engineering. Although some stuffs are bit too much like Frankenstein engine bike with impossible to grab handles or the Reliant Robin which shouldn't be here!
