Would commitment to active combat roles in the USMC (or US armed forces for the matter) qualify me for an EB2 NIW. spilling blood on behalf of the US seems to me like it's in the national interest, especially that I exceed every requirement by far. Hello, hoping you can answer my question.. I just became a Canadian citizen. Here in Vancouver BC; I am originally from Mexico and i got brought to the USA when I was 13 with my parents. I Lived there for almost 30 years. I left the country back to Mexico 5 years ago As I was waiting for my Canadian passport. I have it now.. My question is what are the chances of me being denied entry to US or what’s the worst that could happen if they find out I used to live there? I have family there that I haven’t seen in over 5 years. Thank you

Hi Michael! Great question. The time it takes depends on multiple factors. For example, if the petitioner is a U.S. citizen the process can be much faster than if the petitioner is a lawful permanent resident. Also, if the petitioner is a lawful permanent resident, then the beneficiaries country of birth will impact the overall length of time that it will take for them to get the green card.

What if I come as a tourist, and then I get a legal job. Can I then get a work visa? I don't fit any of the specified categories - I'm just a normal guy from Sweden.
