I can imagine Deadpool grabbing the hammer, cutting his arm off, and wielding his arm that is holding the hammer

It wasn't because Vision was an android. It was because of JARVIS, whose primary function was to protect and preserve life. And it was epic when he casually handed Thor his own hammer. It reaffirmed that he was the protector that Stark had intended all along. BTW, Deadpool has some serious hammer envy.

Lifting the hammer and using it are 2 different things ,vision lifted it cap used it and its powers

I've noticed that there's a lot of mentions of characters not being worthy because of bloody pasts, but I don't think that actually matters. Thor has a *very* bloody history, and yet it's his signature weapon.

Black Widow was definitely worthy to wield Mjolnir in Endgame. The criteria for “worthiness” seems to be willingness to sacrifice yourself for others. She did exactly that when she went with Clint to get the soul stone.

I absolutely disagree with the premise that vision could hold Thor’s hammer because he wasn’t alive and that it was a gag. Not only has Foggy himself say that vision was worthy to lift the hammer but that was the purpose of that scene. They didn’t know if vision was a threat or not and the fact he could lift Thor’s hammer proved to the team he was an ally. Otherwise the fact he lifted the hammer wouldn’t have relieved the tension of the situation. The conversation they had with Thor afterwards was more of them jokingly stroking his ego by suggesting that maybe he could hold the hammer because he wasn’t alive. Like if the hammer was in an elevator would that make the elevator worthy etc etc. But that conversation wasn’t meant to state that vision wasn’t worthy because he wasn’t alive.

Vision was worthy because of the mind stone, and while Vision was in control of that body and the mind stone, that body could use Mjolnir. I like to think that if Ultron was controlling Vision’s body, he wouldn’t be able even budge Mjolnir.

Vision did not "use a loophole". They did not show Ultron holding it, or any other machines. Vision has a "soul" though, and the witch plays on that (but she could not do those things to Ultron, b/c he was sentient w/o a "soul") Vision's role seems to point to Vision being worthy.

Based on the android logic, Ultron would be able to lift the hammer. I think it was because Jarvis/Vision wants to protect life and people without anything remotely immoral in his head is why he could pick it up.

Most of these are technically bogus. your past has nothing to do with the worthiness in which Mjölnir chooses. but chooses based on intend and purpose.

Technically Deadpool could wield the hammer with his 4th wall breaking ability, like convincing the writers and artists to give him mjolnir.

I think in the MCU Thor himself basically said worthiness correlated with being a suitable king of Asgard. If that is the case Vision makes sense even putting aside his heroism and strength. The algorithms and data he has on economics, law, management, strategy, agriculture, politics, etc give him a rather large lead in worthiness.

to be fair he mellowed with age and hoped his son would not be like he was. That was why he was always trying to teach his son to have humility and other virtues and values to the point of harshly punish him for not living up to the ideal or starting a war with the frost giants. he also regretted having warped Hela into what she is.

After Magento’s experiences in a concentration camp, why wouldn’t he be able to lift it in the right circumstances? Magneto doesn’t want to kill everybody. If life on Earth was 100% at risk, I think Magneto would be worthy to lift it. His backstory is enough to make one feel conflicted with him. You understand his pain, but you dislike his methods at times. Magneto is one of those characters you have sympathy for due to this history.

Exactly the entire scene with Vision lifting Moljnir in AOU was to say in one simple scene that this thing that had been created to house the mind of Ultron and who the main characters were fighting over to prevent from being created but their was a doubt about weather or not this thing would be an even stronger Ultron clone was in fact a good guy. Black Widow is actually worthy in the eyes of Mjolnir. It is that she views herself as unworthy why she does not lift it. There are a few characters that have this situation, holding themselves to a higher standard than Mjolnir does.

Y'know at first I don't really believe that there's no concept of science whatsoever involved in Mjolnir but after seeing how Tony simply gave up & do not care about it anymore after he keeps questioning Thor about it tell that much that magic really do existed in Marvel Universe. I feel like everyone jumps to conclusions. “Worthy” is never defined. Everyone assumes it means like heroic and just or something. That’s not the case. Worthy is whatever the hammer decides.

Not exactly. In the comics the hammer gains mass the longer an unworthy person holds it. So hulk if he’s getting angrier faster than the hammer gains mass hulk would be able to use it. At least this is what I heard.

I get the whole being android and being able to lift the hammer thing, however during the Thor movie people tried moving the hammer with trucks and other things so it doesn't make sense that a android or non-human would somehow have the ability to pick up the hammer when trucks couldn't even budge it

I like the Hulk from the Ultimate Avengers movie instead because even though he was unworthy he was still able to lift with his strength alone and what made it realistic is that he was also struggling at the same time

I'm sorry, but Vision's scene with the hammer is what makes Capt's scene emotional, because it clears the way. We aren't left wondering about details and granted access to a pure wonder when Capt is catches it in the last movie. You can feel differently, but you can't really argue it, since you are already affected by the psychology of Vision's scene.

Lifting Mjölnir must be really hard ! - Actually, it is super easy, barely an inconvenience.

i once found a tastefully done fan crossover comic back towards the start of the facebook era that showed a man you would never have even consider to lift or even come into contact with Thor's hammer it was our favorite television neighbor mister Rodgers and yes he was able to lift it seemed Thor had misplaced it and mister Rodgers was just simply returning it to Thor
