15 Times Humans Rescued Animals and Got Thanked in the Cutest Way

We do our thing; animals do their thing. And it’s not often that we’re able to communicate with each other in a way that both species resonate with or recognize. But there are exceptions to that rule, especially when lives are saved. From a waving, smiling sloth to a hugging swan, here are 15 times humans rescued animals and got thanked in the cutest way.

I found a baby Indian Bulbul bird fallen from nest, weak n injured. I took her in my care n slowly she recovered after a few weeks. She started recognizing me as her parent and wouldn't leave my side even while I was walking through the garden. She was free to fly and leave me..but she didn't. One of a lifetime experience she gave me. Animals r more special than we realize. They always have the heart to give us a chance even after all the harm we do to their habitat n them... They deserve much much more love, care, respect and right to live than what they normally get from humans...God bless all the rescuers and animal lovers💕💕

I've loved animals ever since I can first remember seeing them in picture books, later in any setting possible. I'm over 75 now, and actually feel even more love for living creatures, of all kinds. Luckily I have a husband of 60 years and we are able to enjoy our pets, and rescue many feral cats by having them neutered, vaccinated & see that they also are fed. Videos such as this one are so gratifying and inspiring. More, please!

When I was a teenager growing up on a farm in Illinois; a hunter brought a tiny baby squirl to my mom. He asked if we could help the tiny creature. Mom gave the baby to me . I raised him on our screened in back porch until I was certain he could be returned to the woods back of our house. I thought I might never see him again. About a year later I noticed a couple of squirls playing on the tree back of our house. I walked to the tree and was so pleased to see the beautiful pair come down the tree ; stand on their haunches and look up at me. I recognized one as the baby I had returned to the woods. ( Chipper had lost the end of his tail before being given to me.) I was so happy to see he was doing well. He chattered all the while looking from me to his companion. Back and forth. I was thrilled! He had found a mate! I didn't dare move for fear of scaring his mate. Chipper finally stopped "talking". They scampered off toward the woods. My heart swelled with graditude and happiness. Chipper had brought his mate to meet his mommy!

I live in an apartment in Denver and one day when I was out on my patio, I heard this hen mallard having a complete freak out moment. I thought to myself, "what the hell is going on over there?" She was pacing back and forth along the ponds shore and then I noticed a rippling effect coming from a grocery bag a few feet out, counted that she only had 5 of her ducklings. I blasted back into my apartment as fast as I could and grabbed a broom, and ran outside. The mother flew 15 or 20 feet into the pond with the other ducklings in tow. I reached out and snagged the bag in the water gently and and got the other duckling out. It was so cute how it jumped out of the bag on my lap. The mother came flying back quacking happily and shaking her tail feathers. Clearly happy. I felt so good about it :)

I rescued a female pitbull that was on her own and was severely emaciated. It took months to gain her trust and bring her home. 3 years later, we were out in the desert and as we were walking, she turned and jumped on me knocking me over. I was about to step on a rattlesnake hidden in the grass and she got bit twice saving me from it. I jogged 1/4 mile while carrying her back to my truck after she got woozy, and raced her to the vet just in time to save her life in return. A few months later, she saved my wife from another rattlesnake in my yard. She barked and lunged at my wife herding her away from the snake. She was by far the best dog I’ve ever had.

Indeed. I grew up on a farm. Many times when working ground, I'd notice hawks watching from the power lines, and an occasional coyote watching from the edge of the field. They knew that the human with the big machine sometimes runs over a snake, or scares up some field mice or a rabbit for a free meal. Another time, I was bushhogging milo stalks and a coyote walked along the waterway, keeping pace with the tractor and looking over at me until we reached the end of the field and I turned around. It was hoping I'd scare it up some supper.

I once rescued a duck on the side of the road. It was well over 100 degrees and the duck was sitting there not moving. The nearest water was a dozen miles away. When I walked up it walked into some tumbleweeds, it was way to weak to fly. A cop and another man stopped and we cornered it in the tumbleweeds. I went in and got it. My daughter and I drove it to a refuge park 20 minutes away and released it. It came out of the cat carrier and just sat next to us. We didn't want it to get comfortable with humans so we scared it into the water. Other ducks came over to say hi, but it spent a good 5 minutes constantly drinking. It stayed close and didn't want to leave us. I'm so glad there are so many out there willing to help animals and sad so many other would have just swerved to run over the duck.

Me and my mom once found a crow which was fallen out of its nest. It made a lot of noise as it was hungry and we were afraid it would only find the attention of a fox or other predators so we took it home and raised it by ourselves. Rudi, as we called him live with us for over 2 years and was friends with my rabbit, before he left and joined a local flok in our small village. Sadly, a few months after he left, I witnessed how an owl rushed out of an attic and attacked the flok. It got one of the crows and something tells me it was Rudi, as we never were able to teach him the dangers of nature and how to act in those situations. Ultimately, we failed as we couln't save him from predators, but at least we gave him a chance and more time. We still remember him with much love...I actually started to cry a little while writing this... Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language

It’s like I’ve always said, we humans are the ones who don’t understand and don’t pay enough attention to animals, We’ve become cruel and insensitive. My story: on June 27 2016, I was on my way to work when suddenly got a call from my office; one of my coworkers said she rescued a cat 🐈 that was thrown in a bag from a moving car; and no one in the office couldn’t take her home, immediately I said I’ll take care of her. That day she went home with me, I had a dog and was afraid how he would react so that night I kept them separate, a few days later I let my dog around her and boy I was surprised; they got along just fine. Days later they were playing, eating & sleeping together. Unfortunately I don’t have my dog anymore but to this day, my cat Lily is still with my and she’s so adorable and shows me love & affection to no end. Before her I never had a cat, but after her I wish I could rescue every cat I see on the streets, unfortunately I can’t but I help them every time I can.

I am truly grateful first of all for the kind & generous heart of Walt Disney, who shared his compassion for animals of all kinds and brought the truth about animals to the world...to MY world ! The animated eyes & personalities showing caring & love for all, through his beautiful movies, began living in me and I am an animal lover forever & ever. Many other men & women have risked their lives & gained the rewards of finding the souls of animals, which are absolutely beautiful in so many ways. The hug or touch of a paw, & their eyes that say so much, has been richly fulfilling throughout my long life of 76 years.

The Finest: In the town i used to live in i rescued a turtle every year. It was always in the same spot. The area where the highway went through the marsh. I told the city that they need to stop cutting the grass in that area, because after they cut the grass the turtle saw that there is another world over there and was curious and wanted to explore it, so that is why the turtle was trying to cross the road. The city wasn't very good at listening to me. I've also rescued several other animals in my life. I love them all! Even spiders and snakes.

Several years ago I was driving on a busy street and saw a beautifully-colored pidgeon hit by a car. The driver continued on, so I stopped traffic to pick up the bird off the street. He was stunned & I didn't know how bad he might be wounded; but, I put him in a birdcage & cared for him several weeks at home. I was warned not to even get close to the bird because there was an outbreak of bird-flu, but I wanted to save his life. When I felt it was safe for him to leave, I placed him on the lawn, giving him his freedom. He didn't go the first time, but the next time, he was stronger & flew away;BUT, he turned around in flight & came back. He flew around in a circle several times above me as he said goodbye, then returned to his life as a town bird. It's been many years now, but it's a sweet and rare memory that I treasure.

I love this!!!! I have rescued orphan raccoons and my pic is one of them. I never kept them in cages or penned up though. My first four I rescued lived in the house with me till I released them. And here until I moved to a new apt. I would just take care of them on the deck every night and during the day they went to where ever they would go to sleep and just return every night on their own. I did that for like 3 years and as they would grow and start their own families they would bring their babies to me. I ended up with orphans every year. I miss that so bad. Any one curious search my name and the videos will come up. Thanks to all who care and love for wild animals as well as abandoned pets.

Love is the language spoken by all through emotions & body language, plus almost all animals can sense if you mean them harm or not. Loved this video it did have my eyes... errrm...leaking 🤷‍♀️ quite a lot actually. My boyfriend once stopped the car to help a tiny & i mean tiny baby mole. Lord knows how it got where it was as there were no holes to show where it came from & I've no idea how he saw it while driving cus I sure didn't! He helped it back to the grass where, hopefully, it found it's way back to safety with its momma & family. Also my family & i saved a kitten from being drowned by its owner, the daughter took it from their home to find someone who'd give it a home & we did. I had a cat for 20 years we basically grew up together as I was 11 when we got her, I had to let her go I saw she was very ill & didn't want her to suffer as she wasn't eating only drinking & stopped walking. Found out she had kidney failure, luckily she wasn't in pain, a cats levels should be about 3/6 & hers were at 20+. She was amazingly sweet & loving & I miss her everyday there will never be another booney, her nickname, her name was Taz as we were told she was a boy...till she dropped 6 kittens!! 💜❤💜❤💜

So if the choice was between a family member and a stray cat you would have to sit and debate the issue, sacrifice your life/the life of your loved one/both to save the cat. It's not that I believe in animal abuse, I don't, but that is a dumb statement that has no place in reality, and is just "virtue signaling". Silly at best.

But then again,by seeing these humans helping animals,we can see that there are still good people in this planet. Seriously, the attitude of that lion, from Colombia, made me cry!!! Here's short story for you: I used to live in a small town in northern Colorado. On my way home one day, I came around a tree lined curve, and saw a wild turkey hen sitting in the middle of the road. Wild turkey hens are large birds. I slowed down and drove carefully around the turkey. The road is a simple two lane road and narrow. It was also tree lined and the road was shaded, making it a little harder to see the turkey sitting there. As I drove past the bird - ever so slowly - I got a good look at it and it didn't seem injured at all. I didn't see any blood and the wings looked okay and it was sitting upright looking around. I couldn't figure out why it was sitting there. I was worried about someone else coming along and hitting the bird. There are a lot of big trucks and 4x4's in this part of Colorado. So, I made a U-turn and pulled over to the side of the road near the bird. Please understand that I am an animal lover, but am also knowledgeable about which animals not to get near! Normally, I would never have approached this turkey. I really didn't want to have my faced pecked off or get injured. But - I also didn't want the bird to get hit and killed by the next car. So...I got out of my car and very slowly walked over to the bird, talking gently to it as I approached. It still did not try to get up and walk away. It just sat there. I kept talking to it and looked at the bird more closely and still did not see any injuries. The bird might have had a near miss and was in shock - but it was unharmed. I kept talking to it and slowly bent over and got my arms around the bird and my hands under it to hold up it's legs. I picked it up and slowly walked it over to the side of the road and put it down in the leaves next to the trees. It sat there and looked at me. It never once tried to peck at me or hurt me - it just let me pick it up and put it on the side of the road. I was so happy that I'd saved the bird from getting hit by the next car. As far as I know, no one saw me do any of this! I simply got back into my Jeep, and drove off. I went up to the little corner store, then decided to go back to see if the Turkey was still on the side of the road. It had only been about 10 minutes, but when I went back - the Turkey was gone. I still can't believe I just walked over and picked up and moved that turkey! I do have an affinity with animals though...maybe the turkey sensed that. Who knows! I'm just grateful it didn't peck my face as I was helping it! I also did not get sick with any avian illness - just so you know.

when i was about 12 years old, i was visiting my grandmother.. and i had a hard time sleeping, because there was a sheep screaming all night long... i finally passed out in the early hours of the day, and got a little shuteye... i woke up a few hours later, and went to have breakfast.. when i heard the sheep screaming again, and it was doing it at very frequent intervals.. I thought to my self.. this can't be normal. So i walked towards the sound, into the forest.. and found a sheep.. late in its pregnancy, where the rest of the sheep herd was on the other side of a fence.. i realized that this sheep, had managed to walk into something of a loop of fence, that had a small opening.. and the area was maybe 20 square yards, but barely 2 feet wide exit on the oposite side of where the sheep was... and as the sheep was trying to reach the herd on the other side of the fence... it could not find this opening... So i started chasing the sheep around and around and around in this tiny fence loop.. and finally i got close enough that i leapt forward and clutched its back leg.. and managed to hold on, and wrestle the sheep into the ground. Now the sheep realized it was no use struggling any more.. i grasped its front legs in my left hand.. its back legs in right hand, swung it up onto my shoulders and neck, like a backpack. I then walked over to the fence, and leaned over the fence, and dumped the sheep on the ground.. where it swiftly got back on its legs... but the coolest thing happend... It didn't run off.. it didn't panic.. it didn't franticly kick and scream... it just took two steps, and realized it was free, and now with its sheep herd... it then turned around.... and with its weird sheep eyes made eye contact with me, it then made a few sheep sounds, and started walking towards the herd. I've always felt that sheep thanked me for helping it :)

I like to think they're related ;) And yes I burned my hands pretty badly.. but getting back feeling led me to play piano and guitar, so.. always remember evil around you doesn't involve you.
