People will always let you down learn what you don’t know or prepare to fail. I believed trusted in others. I was taken advantage of. I m up at 4am Again obsessed with how family members have cheated me, won’t admit it and now reject me as the problem. I’ll listen to this again. I need to take back my power. I’m older I feel like I’ll never be happy. My purpose was taken away. I wish I did other things. What to do now to be happy. I’m so sad. And embarrassed so I haven’t been on social media I haven’t talked to anyone. I’ve lost interest in all my creative passions. I became a whole food plant based vegan trying to connect with others like me. The world upsets me. Killing animals. Killing the planet. Sad. Thank you for this video.

Yours is but for a season. It will pass. It sounds like situational depression. Exercise, cook, keep self-talk positive, catch yourself worrying. Think about what you’re thinking about. It helps me every time. Volunteering and also living with gratitude and being optimistic. It’s a process but it does bring peace and sadness is less and less frequent. Peace be with you. Love to you and yours always.

We need to eliminate the artificial synthetic imitation basically man made fake things in this world go back to what's real and true and beautiful. Sounds like you get that the food most people consume daily is really bad ..and it is we need to get back to trusting in God and realize the solutions we seek for the planet require that because the earth was made by God to be self sustaining naturally and it is all the toxic plastics and chemicals that are destroying it. Cast your cares upon God and ask him to help you see the truth through all the lies and solutions which are much simpler than we think it's amazing when you truly seek him and actively seek him , how he shows up for you . Cast your cares upon God and let them go .pay attention because He will answer . God bless you

Thank you for your great encouragement. I was flipping out because I was feeling inadequate about returning to University. I was easily triggered by the opinions expressed by the new set of students. I was resentful at how quickly the administration was taking these inexperienced and uneducated opinions into account. I therefore thought that I was now too old and should just quit what I had enjoyed for many years. Anyway, I got hold of my emotions and decided not to be so reactive. I gray rocked one class the way many of them do and coped a whole lot better. I still think that it is wrong to depend so much on technology. It is a precarious medium and sure enough causes distress when it fails. Thank for the encouragement to accept these changes. Young people probably don't understand the freedom of being more in control.

Dawn I totally agree. Society is so caught up with this Technology thing that they can't do without it. I balance myself. It is allowing folks to totally depend on it. And yes you cannot totally depend on it. The young folks think they know it all. If something like a blackout happens folks would not know how to cope, because they are so attached. 👍👍👍👍

Thank you...I am looking back over my life of being too nice... I started life seriously abused and degraded by my "mother"...I was surrounded by GREAT adults..but my "mother's" unrelenting abuse and manipulation just wore me down.. I made huge sacrifices to stabilize the house..and too late found myself targeted by the ungrateful maggots I helped so much.. After so many injustices and thefts I am in poverty financially but always managed to be creative and kind and had a good life..inspite of the abuses... But life is SO hard and depressive now I am revisiting the injustices... and losing interest in my creative life ... this was a good reminder..moment by moment one can do ONE thing to move myself forward again.. I am REALLY going to try again starting now...

We used to say “pity party,” you know, a sad movie like Titanic, a huge tub of ice cream, a big spoon, box of Kleenex, shot of Jameson’s, comfy chair or couch full of pillows, foot pajamas, a snuggly blanket, and my cat. Sometimes Mr. Peabody, my schnauzer is invited, but the mastiffs? No. Other people? No way! Pity parties are a solo activity. End the party by crawling into bed and sleeping it off, if it’s an evening party, or a brisk shower and new outfit, or new shoes, even new underwear, ready to go out and face the world.

You can say what you want too! But most people are "Toxic". No disrespect. I have made many mistakes in my life and have no problem apologizing. But I don't understand, how so many people can be so screwed up! I don't have a problem respecting anyone but in my experience. The more educated a person is. They seem to lack ( No common sense). I'm not that smart but I don't go around purposely trying to make somebody else life miserable! I just want to be happy. So if that means being by myself. Oh well. Let it be. Thanks for the advice. Very interesting. I will continue to find ways to enjoy myself. With or without people in my life. Thank you.

Hi Dr Elise. Wondering if their is a value given to the typical 'highest impact life shockers? And what about medium shockers (one timers or periodic, continuous...). .And what would an algorithm look like to determine some kind composite score for a threshold for determining complex PTSD? I am just now getting my story with noticeably clarity and accelerating aspects that were missing from my narrative (background interest in narrative medicine) Thanks

Right now? Am anxious, feel like a failure after my way of dealing with an elderly parent backfired, feel guilty because I got my mother upset and two nurse’s aids angry at me. I feel like a failure for being unable to visit my father in the same home. Disgusted at myself for stress eating and gaining weight. Anxious about a long to-do list with which I never catch up.

Those kids all had a stupid iPhone in thier hand by the age of 11. Sad sad sad. Where is my wife? She's behind some stupid iPhone at home alone....trying to connect on "an app" for single gay women. Well, As an old person, who had a stroke, my future is probably short! I think about dying, and have planned for it. I am poor because of a divorce from a malignant narcissist many years ago. Have you ever created a mission statement for yourself? A mission statement is like the navigational computer or more correctly the computer program on board a modern jet aircraft. I would like to suggest you take a weekend occupying the most relaxing and worry-free space you know. Think deeply about your most beloved places, choices, and memories in those spaces where you lost most(if not all sense of time). What were you doing when you were in what is now commonly called "a state of flow". I challenge you to build and derive your sense of purpose and meaning from that. Then inspired by your own unique interests and strengths sit down and create your own mental/biological computer program in the form of a mission statement (as a quick reference guide) to keep you focused and on your own created path/track/directional control. Ps Incidentally, a computer like every other human created thing makes errors in navigation in-flight, but the modern computer operates so quickly that it is constantly correcting itself by checking in with gps satellites and making course corrections. Pps: the biggest obstacle you are likely going to have to deal with is other people's fear of getting exactly what you want or focus on, because if you can accomplish your dream that leaves them to face their own lack of initiative and follow-through in regards to their own abandoned goals/dreams nes pas?
