Nice advice. Very informative. But foreign tourists might also be interested in seeing tropical mountains, cliffs along crashing shores, rice terraces, hanging coffins, cultural dances, historical buildings and towns. For these, the Philippines is not just islands and beaches. It's so much more. 🙂

From a local perspective, you can exchange your US$ at the airport, or at money change counters in the malls (in Manila, Cebu). Or you can withdraw from your bank account thru ATMs that dispense Philippine Peso. Word of caution though to bring cash when headed to the province like El Nido where ATMs come far in between, not to mention instances when they are out of service.

Even some experienced backpackers are having a challenging time exploring Philippines and Siargao is a relatively small island, (it has a nice country/island vibe there but their small airport is actually just recently been open so you get the idea). I suggest just go straight to Palawan esp with an 18 month old baby.

Yes @ebo5739. Those news you've heard or read in the media are not completely true. They distract the public not to come so they can only enjoy the Philippines by themselves. Don't always believe what you've heard in your surroundings. Most people in the world don't know what they are talking about. It was those old days some conflict occured in the Philippines a long time ago. Now it's completely different. These vloggers will not come to the Philippines if it is not safe. Watch other vloggers and follow them like Always Be Changing, Jumping Places, Travel Escape, Brent Contie, Christian Lost le Blanc, Kristi Travel Escape and of course Joel Friend to name a few. These vloggers captured the real Philippines and how foreign vloggers and travellers around the world keep coming back to the Philippines. Of course, you have to be cautious of your surroundings and don't let your guards down, not only in the Philippines, but the rest of the world.

Feeding the whale sharks are better than eating whale sharks. In Oslob, they used to hunt and kill whale sharks. Now, they provide livelihood to the residents through ecotourism. It’s a win-win situation for the sharks and the locals.

Now, for me, it doesn't seem natural anymore. I get it. It's overcrowded and very touristy. And it doesn't seem to be as safe for the whale sharks as I used to think. Go to Donsol instead.

10 days to visit all the places you mentioned will make you keep on rushing through your journey with no time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. 2 destinations would be more realistic

I don't agree with the hotels... I stayed 3 nights in a luxury flat for £52.. depends where you go, I suppose? This stay was in Baguio, which I HIGHLY recommend any tourist to go!! ❤❤

Ang pricey talaga magtravel dito sa atin. Mas gugustuhin mo na lang magtravel OUT OF THE COUNTRY dahil usually mas makakamura ka pa. But yeah, maganda pa rin talaga sa Pinas.

the most important is EVERY ONE speaks English. Even in the deepest jungles or mountains where civilization is nowhere, you will be surprised. By the time children are in kindergarten, English is taught the same time as Tagalog. Courtesy of the American system in place during the early 20th century. I know foreigners who have been there YEARS and only spoke like, 20 Tagalog words the entire time. A lot of resorts and neighborhoods in remote islands have Elon Musk's Starlink so wifi is not an issue.

The eSIM - embedded SIM - is a SIM where the subscriber profile can be changed over the air without changing the actual SIM or you can buy local Sim card and ask the vendor how to buy internet on your sim for a week or a month subscription..

Philippines don't encourage mass tourism just like Thailand. It will be spoiled with too much tourism. Backpackers are enjoying the Philippines , one of the reasons is the less crowd. you can also enjoy an islands alone .
