My daddy told me when you go to an event a gentleman should always carry a pocket knife for any utility task and a clean handkerchief for his lady in case she needs it. There have been many times when I have given my handkerchief to an emotionally touched lady at weddings, funerals and other ceremonies. I buy extras and sometimes tell them to keep it. Also every man needs a shoe care kit and needs to know how to condition and polish his shoes... thank you for the video.

There are so many studies that suggest that but at 46 I'm stronger, leaner and more muscular than I've ever been in my life. No steroids or crazy workouts either. Just 3-4 days a week at the gym. Funny thing is most of the guys I work with are Just like me. One of my coworkers is almost 60. I just went blind last year. It’s funny how you mentioned that a journal was something that we all needed by the age of 40. I really stressed over learning to read braille so I could write in my journal again. Ask for another thing all men should have by 40 I would definitely include a good knife set! Cast iron is worth it! You can pass that on when you pass and it goes from stove, to oven and outside camping. I have 2 pieces that a downsized couple couldn't lift anymore. It's saved me so much from having to replace cheap Teflon crap that flakes off!

Al Roker Because they work like this. You can get a million dollars loan in America when in Europe you would get half of it. If it’s for business and you do it right it’s free money and opportunities, if you mess up, start thinking the money is yours and that you can enjoy it, you’re done. Easy rules tho, don’t live out of it. But I can’t imagine playing in the same pond as guys that can bring a couple of millions on the table vs my no credit savings... and you need to spend money to live anyway, might as well put it to work for your credit.

When I bought my tailored suits I told them to leave a little extra room. :-D Even if you grow more than that the suit can be tailored to let some more out to accommodate your growth.

I love travelling and living in different parts of the world and enjoying all the great cultures and experience travelling has brought.

The used passport ( I got my 1st on at age 40) and the book collection hooked me. Excellent suggestions here, and some of the comments are valuable as well. Thank you!! I am 57 now, and many of the items I did possess at age 40. I will always remind others that it is never too late!

Idk how you was recommended..but glad it happened creeping up near 40 and figured a long time ago I need to add that more older look to my wardrobe(still love my sneakers,Jeans and polos...new sub here..I've checked a few videos..a few of these things I had and knew..but a lot of info I'm just getting a hold of..keep the great content coming brother✌🏾❤

Excellent video I agree with everything on the list except for one thing the booze I've been clean from drugs and alcohol for 12 years and and one of the reasons that I was able to subscribe to your Channel and to watch you it's because I'm clean and sober but other than that I agree with everything on the list thanks you've been an inspiration to me especially style-wise

You're not lying about buying a tux! I was a guest at a wedding this past summer and it was a black-tie situation. So, I went to Men's Wearhouse and bought a tux and everything else so I was laced from head to toe. My lady LOVED it and I caught many people checking me out all night lol! Folks mos def could tell I wasn't rocking a rental, due to the sleek fitted, tailored look after the alterations etc. Keep droppin' these gems on 'em OG!

Great to know I got lots of those things. Although, who knew when I bought a cast iron skillet in college, I was checking off the list at 20 years old? Guess I have to thank my grandmother for that. She's passed on now, but she motivated me to buy it when I wanted to cook smothered okra like her's. She stated it was a "must" I have one. Excellent advice my man!!!

Definitely agree. My good credit has let me borrow money to buy several real estate properties.

Buying a house is basically paying an expensive rent, it’s not for everybody, I think renting is a better option, which is why rent is now the price of mortgage, either way you slice it renting is a whole lot cheaper, and you’re still able to save up a better retirement, taxation on property makes ownership a myth.

The reason you buy a house is to stop having to pay that big lump sum every month. Sure you pay it now because you work but when you stop working you'll want to keep your money. Plus you can sell a house or rent it for profit. You can also borrow against it to start a business. All you can do with a rental is pay for it while you live under the sovereignty of the landlord. You can't even customize a rental.

Jeff you nailed it especially the journal I am currently writing mine and when you write it's amazing what you recall, stuff that's been locked away for years, the good the bad and the incredible. Keep going and we salute you for your channel keep it up
