15 Signs You Have A Strong Intimidating Personality

If you have these signs, then you have a strong personality that others may find intimidating! Some people assume that such a label is just a polite way of saying that a person is loud and obnoxious. But there’s a big difference between these and a more general strength of character. Someone with strong personality traits radiates self confidence.
An intimidating personality is a result of being thoughtful and well-informed. Someone like this may use their instinct to guide them - at the same time, they have a very rational approach to problem solving. They are passionately determined in the way they act on their beliefs, and they aren’t afraid to be their true selves. A person who has a strong character, does not rely on other people to tell them who they are, what they are, or what they can do!
If you have a strong intimidating personality, people usually don’t understand the kind of person they are dealing with. Some may even think that you are difficult to be around! That’s because they just can’t understand how you can be so comfortable with yourself. But you only come across as intimidating because you actually challenge others to be the best version of themselves.

L James I think you hit the nail on the head. If you are high performance because you dont waste time on a lot of trivialities you are liable to suffer conspiracy, a lack of cooperation, sabotage, and spotlighting of any minute failing, sort of revenge at your being good, an attempt to cut you down to size to diminish their own lack of competence. There was a song in the 80's by Adam Ant that that speaks of both feet, describes the situation well.

ikr? i have an aunt who is a shrewd businesswoman and really loves her money. she posed as our friend and family in helping us in acquiring a new home (since her business is buy-and-sell of real estate) because being my mom's sister, my parents trusted in her. right after my mom died and just a day that we were going to move in our new home, she stopped us and claimed it was her property. being a law student that i was, of course i didn't buy that bullshit. because she can't contend with me and my legal arguments, she succumbed to emotions and started playing victim that i was foul mouthed and rude towards an elder and spread slanderous remarks about me in my mother's side of the family. I don't think i'm "that" intelligent as portrayed here. but one thing's sure, i know the legal arguments against this as well as certain friends involved in bad activities. i think i am intelligent to a point where she just disappears and nobody's gonna ask why anymore, since days in court gives her a fair chance and she didn't give us a fair chance of dealing with my mother's death and decided to take our property, our home, away from us by being manipulative and obviously arguing outside of the law. but meh.. maybe i'm intelligent to let it go instead to not face trouble? one thing is for sure.. she'll have her day.

Another sign of a strong personality: You don't have to prove that you're right. Just state the facts and people can get upset or angry over the difference of opinion or disagreement if they wish. If they accuse you of being mean, then they are extremely insecure and nothing more than an overgrown child trapped in an adult body.

I have a strong personality and I've been told I like to argue. It's not that I like arguing per se, but I don't avoid it either. To me it's simply a way of analyzing an issue and sussing out the facts. But some people see this as conflict rather than looking at a problem from all angles.

Not if you're strong enough to have boundaries in place . There are so many pitfalls to being inately "strong". There are those who think a faux nihilism or standard narcissm passes for a strong personality . It's tricky b c those who fall into that category are usually just lashing out due to their own lack of a backbone , esp with regard to family . They need attention and compassion , if it's accepted , and hopefully someone to love and guide them through life's confusion . There's nada inherently "strong" about not asking for help or not being able to control your strong personality depending on the situation .

This is an excellent pep talk for those of us with these character traits to keep being ourselves. I was taught before you engage in something to arm yourself with as much information as you can, continue to learn because none of us will ever know it all , do the best job you could and to leave things in better condition than when you found them and to set a good example because we never know who might be drawing inspiration from us. It’s amazing how threatened others feel when you don’t seek approval, can make decisions on your own, when you don’t accept authority blindly, can back up your choices with facts and examples and have joy and peace in your life.

It's interesting how problematic individuals stay putting spins on things that they want to go their way. They eventually reap all that they've sown tho. Whether or not you sit back and wait for it............You're better off living your life in the wholesome and adjusted way that you are, as there's nothing exciting or interesting about being front and center to watch others reap from whatever fuckery they've sown.

I recognize all 15 of these personality traits in myself. I watched this video because I hear almost daily that I’m intimidating, and that’s not my agenda. The reasons on here weren’t what I was expecting to hear, but they all ring true. Respect is learned and earned and actions speak louder than words. I’m not easily fooled and I’m not going to pretend to be.

When someone stands in a light (as in really is a certain way vs they're just ***behaving and pretending to come across in a certain light) these aren't traits that they picked up from where ever. More than likely this is who they are (whether or not they're in a position or you're experiencing whatever part of their character.

A very timely video for me to see today! I have often be called intimidating. However, as I see it, you can't intimidate people; they are intimidated by you. I demonstrate all of these qualities although I could work on letting go of the past more, because sometimes I am frustrated by being judged and abused by people in the past. A great quote I once read really helped: "To overcome others requires force; to overcome yourself, requires strength". And this strength of character is threatening to others. It is hard to be authentic and live up to high standards and do your best. A lot of people either can't be bothered, are lazy or don't know how. I don't believe that it's about being the better than others, but about being the best you can be. People are threatened by those who are balanced, centred and at peace with themselves because it sets off their own inner struggles. But if we all just work on these inner struggles we can all become the best version of ourselves.

@@Sigma3095 Amen to that, I used to have less signs because of my damaged childhood, but I had such a strong willpower, and never had the actual desire to truly fit in if that would mean compromising who I was.. But being like that, it being my true nature; resulted in, the rebel I was, going against the mainstream, looking for my identity, growth and healing being my goal and now there are only details, but mainly each point applies to me.. Mostly completely, sometimes like I mentioned there are the details.. I just came across this video today, and may I say I didn't realize to the full extend why I was so intimidating to the wrong people.. They literally envied me or/and wanted me out of their way.. They tried and sometimes succeeded in bringing me down, never fully understood why. My favorite is expression was; what is it?! Are they jealous about MY LIFE?! Really?! Few years ago I understood they were jealous of how I dealt with my life or how I had traits they desired.. I had intuition there must be something going on.. And being so considerate of others, I never truly understood why I was intimidating.. Until one day I understood it was probably because I had some things or traits they desired, like; not caring what others think, or because I loved being alone, to fill up my energy battery.. Because I had strong intuition or was able to solve problems or was creative at solutions to ease life or simply enjoy life, my positivity or intelligence, or even my energy.. I did challenge them to do better, and I sensed a wide range of respons to that.. In different people, often even in the same person.. But now thanks to this video I understand it even better, this was the missing link to boost my confidence.. I am proud to be the lone wolf who is a critical thinker, who, now even stronger, doesn't care what others think, unless they think I did something hurtful to them, that I want to solve and heal them and work on myself to avoid it in the future, that's still the exeption.. But other than that hooray to the ones who want to become better, not better than someone else, but better than they were yesterday.. To the right people we will be an inspiration to develop/grow (like they used to be for me when growing up, I loved them, never envied them), or more so, awaken these traits as well, to the wrong people we will always be a curse in their eyes.. Makes it easier to spot where we belong and what/who to avoid.. Goals are looking even more within reach now, then they ever did before..

magenta44 Exactly. Have you ever experienced those times when "the rules only apply to them" but not you? For example, you are labeled a very opinionated person with low tolerance for rudeness yet you're frown upon (within certain circles) but if they do the same thing they're excused as having the right of being free to express themselves and learn from their mistakes? (Yet, you're expected to know better and be better?) They can disrespect you but if you feel hurt you're just being too sensitive? And if you say half the things they said you are the one who crossed the line? I've been told that it's not what I say, it's how I say it. (I'm well spoken and educated; wanted to be a writer. I say what I mean and mean what I say) But, I've been told I sound to proper, and that I shouldn't show how much I can do because it seems intimidating even if I do smile? Yet, Why can't people show grace and empathy instead of demanding it? I find it interesting when Self-Acceptance is such a huge thing now but tolerance and mutual respect tends to be bargained away. It's sad really.

Wrong. You recognize the benefits of social media, use them to your advantage but you're not a slave to them.

DAMN! YOU HAVE DESCRIBED MY LIFE WITH EVERY WORD SPOKEN! I have proven it by action as well as spoken by others. Weak people hate me for it because they don’t understand.

Both of my Parents had a strong personality and they passed it on to me. I 've been told I have a magnetic aura, I can walk into a empty store and in no time people are all around me. That is my gift. I enjoyed your video.

Moral integrity intimidates dishonourable people. This trait gives me so much inner peace, so I appreciate my high ethical standards. Whether someone does or doesn't appreciate this - reveals a lot about that person. Perfect barometer!

I believe that if one lacks moral integrity then they also lack the ability to be compassionate, considerate & selfless. My elderly mother fell victim to a morally foul individual who took everything that my mother worked her entire life for. EVERYTHING! The last thing that's this foul person took from my mother, which was the only thing that Ma had left, was her life😥I think that this foul person truly believes that quantity gets you everything. Re.,respect, admiration, social status, etc.....It's too bad that she 'just doesn't get it'. Quantity IS NOT quality! Moral integrity is a MUST HAVE & it looks so well on people! Those who have absolutely no conception of this quality are the ones that hurt children, abuse the elderly, have relations outside of a commitment & on & on & on.....I wish that I could change these type of peoples but I can't. I can't have my Ma back either😳
