Another TE roof build!

I noticed that most school bus ether have a deck, solar panel or half& half. I was wondering if you have ever see/build a deck the full length of bus and on top of that solar panel setup the full length of bus on popup system. you could raise and low the panel by a big wheel like the old school popups.

Can you do a video on how you replaced the wheel wells? Mine are rusted out too.

We're thinking of putting a small loft above the driver seat for a little bed or place for the cats. Do most roof raises have this slanted front area , or is there a way to raise it to match the original shape of the front. In your experience, does the below window raise do well? We love the look of the original bus windows and had planned on making insulated curtains but I'm seeing so many build outs advise against keeping the original windows.

You can definitely raise a bus straight up without the angled transition….it’s truly just a matter of aesthetics and personal preference. My honest opinion, and my preference is to get rid of the original windows…they will always leak water no matter how well you seal them up.

@@TranscendExistence1111 good to know. Is there a cheap place to find RV windows? Junkyards? The ones I’m finding on FB marketplace and Craigslist are almost as costly as new ones.
