🥰 Thanks for the videos. I’m starting to learn Urdu as a complete beginner. This is such a beautiful, poetic language. I teach English as a second language and English drama in Hong Kong, and I would like to get to know more about the cultures of South Asia (my pupils sometimes share with me about their cultural traditions)❤

Question to anyone out there, especially those in Pakistan. The word "Sathi" means partner or life partner. I interpret this to literally mean life partner, as a man and woman whom are not married but living together in a relationship. In America, this is common. Culturally and religiously (Islam), I was under the impression in Pakistan, a "life partner" or living with someone without being married is a major no-no. Does this in fact happen? And if so, how common is this? Thank you.

(sorry my english is not good) urdu developed in subcontinent (now separated in India and pakistan)..subcontinent wad ruled over by MUSLIMS for more than 1000 years. in the era of Muslim King Shahjahan, there were different people from different countries in shahjahan's army.. the spoke different languages! mainly Arabic, persian ,sansikrat. turkish .. .as a result of intermixing of different languages urdu came into being! the world 'Urdu' itself came from a turkish word 'URDU' which means army or group..because urdu is a group of different languages.. shahjahan did a lot of work in the field of writings and calligraphy to develop urdu! so URDU became the language of muslims.. although Hindus were also present in Subcontinent at that time but they used to speak hindi and urdu became the language of muslims.. and now the NATIONAL LANGUAGE OF PAKISTAN!
