I was once, one of these edc enthusiast. Bought every thing that's labelled "best edc/ must have edc items" etc and throughout all of the time, i realise i never used most of the edc stuffs apparently. Hence i resort to just a simple sling bag and bring my wallet phone power bank earbuds and keys and a notebook (surprisingly i uses a notebook a lot) so yeah, for most of the people these are usually the items they carry around, they don't need to have all of these stuffs but hey, we all have that phase so i understand.

They confuse me. I own a pack and I found them to be miserable to write on. Every writing implement I've tried, no matter how fancy or robust, smears on the paper surface without minutes of drying.

Seiko 5 Sports SSK001 for the win, under rated watch, best value for money for the type and price range. Of course, a $15 heavy duty Casio W800H also works for EDC 😄

ah yes, a $500 watch but no way to plug anything into a wall in another country. The multicharger cable is a great backup, and the a6 water bottle has proven convenient when I'm work-traveling. everything else on this list is unnecessary or overkill, and I've got dozens of countries and years abroad under my belt. This is just deadweight.

Casio GW-M5610U or GW-5000U is still best EDC travel watch. Mechanical watch is nice, but true edc title goes to g-shock.

I owned a that lite sling 7L, I think you are better off with the smaller one, the strap width is a smidge thin for the weight you can accumulate if you are going to take advantage of the internal volume. 4L size is a better match for the more lightweight build. I also own the venture sling 6L and despite the name it actually fits slightly more internally and the more robust structure and wider straps are better suited for the weight of things you can fit in that size. I also got the boundary rennen ripstop after looking at the lite venturefor a packable backpack, similar material and weight but I liked the wider shoulder straps on the rennen. I'll have to look up the sony earbuds and the nitecore flashlight you show here.

I have the EDC27. Love it to death, but sometimes the proximity detector glitches out and turns on randomly, reducing the brightness unwarranted. Not sure why.

i would argue the new arcfeld pro from olight would be better for multiple reasons wireless charging for convenience and the fact its the same price as the nightcore. and they found a way to add a powerful laser pointer and a really powerful uv light and a 1300 lumin flashlight in a smaller compact size than the nightcore. sure you can argue proprietary cable but they sell a adapter that can fit on a keychain or necklace and can wear as a pendant that requires a standard usb c cable you would be carrying anyway to charge your devices. for only $15 additional. and then you can use the cable it comes with as a nightstand cable and flail your arm around at night and it will figure out where the strong magnetic charging cable is and auto connect. much easier than trying to find a flap of plastic or rubber at night and finding the cord and plugging it into the hole with accuracy. and you may make the arguement that nightcore has a 3,000 lumin but they dont tell you its a turbo mode and auto shuts off to prevent overheating so its more of a i need to blind someone tactic more so than i need 3,000 lumins so unless you work security or need a flashlight that can blind someone in a form of self defence which is a laughable excuse to own a flashlight the olighht arkfeld turbo would be more than enough plus it melts into your pocket since its flat and you don't even notice its there until you need it. plus it has a hat clip and a regular clip built in 1 and the nightcore can't do that.

in 3month experience, I think the lite ready pack is quite small for men. I'm not a big guy but when I wear the backpack it seems like I wear wife's backpack. People say Bellroy's bags overrated. Some of the points I agree with that. But there are no alternatives so far. I hope many bag companies would make experimental and challenging bags more in the future.

As an alternative to the expedition note , you have Karst Stone paper notebook

It isn’t directly compatible with Android models, but Peak Design sells a universal adaptor for it (which is compatible with all its Slimlink system gear). They also make a fantastic phone case for a variety of smartphones and all of said cases are compatible with the tripod (and their handlebar mount and the rest of their Slimlink kit)

HIC is a men’s lifestyle publication. It describes itself as such on its site. As such it does clothing and gear guides that are for men. Sometimes those guides are for non-gender-specific product spaces like the one here. That doesn’t change that it’s a piece being produced by a men’s lifestyle space for its target audience.
