15 MOST Amazing Statues Ever Made

Ойын-сауық

When they’re not being pulled down for perpetuating the legacies of thoroughly unpleasant people who are better off not being celebrated, statues are pretty cool. Collectively, they form a huge part of our societal history and culture, but as well as being super important, a lot of them are also strikingly beautiful.
And so with that in mind, in today’s video, we thought we’d take a look at 15 of the most amazing statues that the world has to offer. Let’s get started.

With all the flowing garbs and expressions and arms it's almost like it's not connected or strapped down the Earth it's practically flying so so anime it's wonderful to look at and inside I don't know what they use it for you can hold it maybe an opera theater

I find it funny how someone who created something as adorable as the Fuwa...also created something THIS epic and menacing. That wasn't his first Olympic-related work either. His Five-Dragon Clock Tower sculpture for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta made him the FIRST Chinese artist to ever design a sculpture in the US. Sad thing is, that giant statue has been dismantled back in September 2021. The problem was when the developers submitted their plan to city officials, they only submitted plans for the boat-shaped musem at the statue's base, not the statue. Statues like that one requires their own planning process, they also weren't aware the area it was in had a height limit. They spent over 24 MILLION dollars to dismantle and thankfully relocate it.

For sheer technical virtousity you can't go past the statues in the San Severo chapel in Naples that are part of the mausoleum of the noble de Sangro family -in particular the one that shows the body of Jesus after he was taken down from the cross and a thin veil placed over him -the skill required to make stone look like a thin veil would have been formidable and another statue in the chapel is called "Truth" also in marble which shows a man entrapped in a fishing net with every detail carved in stone. The 18th century ancestor who commissioned the statues was renowned as an alchemist, inventor and magician and some people believed that he used magic on the sculptors to make them carve these amazing statues.

Number 2, seems too much as if taken the idea from a contemporary artist, painter and sculptor from Spain. Eduardo Urculo. Depends on whom first, but Eduardo Urculo is definitely from the 80s on forward. His work is also within the high speed rail station in downtown Madrid Spain. Atocha. It also has an indoor botanical garden. The series is also called, "El Viajero ", "The Traveler". That's why. I'm a fan, that's why immediately spotted the similarity. If gone through that train station, definitely see one from the series, between the botanical garden and before going through security to the gates to the trains

the most emotionally affecting statue for me is Grieving Parents by Kathe Kollwitz. And I know it's fashionable among the esthetes to scoff at the Russian statue in Volgograd (renamed to the previous Tsarist name from Stalingrad). Though there are many things about Socialist Realism that I dislike, this statue was created after WWII. And after what the USSR suffered in WWII, any statue created would have to be overwhelmingly evocative to work. A three story Calder wind mobile is just not going to cut it.
