15 Minutes To Better Solos - Guitar Lesson - Melodic Soloing Tips and Tricks

Музыка

In this lesson we explore how to make your solos more melodic. We do this by learning how to find different chord shapes within our pentatonic scales. Once we can do this we will be able to have the confidence and skills to solo over almost any common chord progression. This lesson will show you a quick tip to finding major pentatonic position one, also how to find the chord progression chords within it. Good luck! Happy soloing! Thanks for watching!

self taught dudio here - ive had friends alot better then me and watched hours of YT tutorials to find this gem of someone just explaining the basic structure on how things work - no riff raff, no intimidating theory, and for gods sake no click bait IE actual help. It's unbelievable how many videos are this exact same thumbbnail but manage to literally say absolutely nothing in 15 minutes. You managed to cover the fundamentals of scale structure, key tones, triads, and do it coherently, no BS, as well as even kick start the viewers to start getting into the theory of it all. From myself, and the past two years of myself, thank you. Wish more videos were like this - teaching the whole concept via fundamental knowledge and technique with no BS :)

I have said it before, the best conceptual guitar instructor on YT. Not a compliment, just an observation. I finally understand the point of the CAGED system. So simple. Yet in every CAGED tutorial I have watched there was never enough practical application for it to be useful to me(despite watching entire series on the topic). Yet in this video, which didn't even focus on teaching the system, there was. That says a lot, even though it was the second time I watched it. Many thanks, you are a great teacher...that was a compliment. ;-)

BEST video I've seen. Not only how to do it but what and why!! Now I can play chords with scale tones thrown in and scales with chord tones! Just add the minor third, F#m, in the Am form, and you have I, iim, IV, V, ivm and the pentatonic scale all in one place. Now to add other positions and more chords. You opened up a whole new dimension for me. Thank you.

More than welcome. No one is more useful(to me) illustrating the concept of combining major/minor. You have a knack for it. You put up a small amount of incredibly useful illustrations that allow me to work on the concepts for many hours off of a 10-20 minute lesson. That is substance. I like the content, I like the approach and I like the presentation...beyond that though....;-) Thanks again. You have no idea how useful your lessons have been to me.

@@BrettPapa got a grip on finding the chords in the shapes and the position like that but how do you know what other notes you can play those chord shapes I know when you started in the E major you were playing the E major pentatonic and then when you went to the b, ... I'm just going to watch it again but when you go to those other shapes the D shaped chords especially how do you know what notes you can play around them? Thank you I hope it's not too late to ask on this particular video I know it's a few years old I'm just finding it now and just loving it , that's what I'm lacking, Melody , and that must be the last thing you find before you really take off, I've got to stop the constant noodling LOL
