Wait, the fake book is $18.99! I see great books at the thrift store for way less, estate sales, garage sales…I think buying a vintage real book for less makes sense for me:) That bookcase you redid blew my mind!! So cool!

Love the vid, but as a former bookseller I often cringe when I hear people say to use fake books or that you can’t get good books affordably. You can get cheap large books (which others call coffee table books) at used bookstores, and even some regular bookstores have a “remainder” section where all the books are discount. You can support a local business and actually get a book that you’ll love to browse if not read.

Yeah! You can also get super interesting coffee table books for super cheap at the thrift store too! Also your local library will often sell books they don't keep in rotation anymore for super cheap as well! And you're supporting your library at the same time!

Completely agree! Though I do have to say I have a few “box” books scattered around my home. My TV remotes live in one, and another small one is a receptacle for matches! I just pasted a piece of strike paper on the inside cover. 😊

Totally on point. Nothing more cringe than hearing about fake books . There’s even “cool” for people nowadays to flex on social media over their reading when they actually don’t read at all 😏😏😏

I find a LOT of feather pillows at garage sales...usually stuffed into some misc. cover. Wash or discard cover, spray pillow til damp with alcohol....voila...fresh as new! 50c - $2, usually.

I have saved so many of these products on my Amazon page! One suggestion.... I love using my Gorilla Glue mini hot glue gun for smaller projects ( I use it most of the time!), and the short mini glue sticks don't last very long. So I bought the extra long Gorilla Glue mini glue sticks which work so much better!

I work as a painter. Don’t use a heat gun to dry paint. You want airflow more that heat. Heat will burn the paint, it’ll turn brown and bubble and curl off. Heat is actually a great way to strip paint. You can take a heat gun to old hardware and melt/peel the paint right off. Putting a fan on a wall with wet paint will cut your dry time in half, airflow is ideal for speeding up the drying process. A hairdryer is the best tool for quickly drying small projects. That’s what I use at work to quickly dry small items

Today was the first time I watched your videos and I watched 3 in a row and enjoyed each one. Of course I subscribed. Wish computers were around with youtube 40 years ago when my husband and I were working on our 1906 home. We did many things just by making mistakes but we were happy with our finished projects. Stripping high baseboards, door frames learning how to wallpaper and still talk to each other when we finished. Making a wall to wall 11feet wide from ceiling to floor closet with drawers on the sides out of oak, staining and putting 2 hole pulls on their drawers. I made a paper template because every drawer was the same size. The list goes on and work never stopped re-doing an older home. I loved the paint technique you used on your apartment in one of the rooms the window trick using electrical tape. I'm looking forward to watching more of your great ideas. There is one thing I'd like to know. We have moved to a condo and I want to do our onsuit bathroom. So how do you take vinyl wallpaper off. I've seen a few ideas but want to do it once as my age is not in my favor to do it one way and then find out how to do it an easier way. Enjoy your new home. Wendy Montani from Canada 🇨🇦

Another I use for picking up seed beads that have gotten away from me and the last one I use for .. dirt/other dirty stuff. I'd been telling everyone how great I thought they would be to have before Christmas. Then I bought one for myself - for Christmas and got 2 more as gifts. haha

I added almost every single one of these to my shopping list! 😁 Thanks for amazing suggestions! My only constructive critique (as an art grad) is to buy the value packs of hard bound, non-spiral sketchbooks instead of those "fake books". They come in lovely colors and look so clean and professional at a fraction of the cost (cuz starving artist college kid life lol) and are great quality paper inside!

diy idea for you….You normally ditch or spray paint the handles ….I painted antique drawer pulls with Annie Sloan chalk paints…added a.s. metallic wax …covered with Dixie belle satin clear coat…used a.s. Chateau grey (which is green with grey) and warm gold wax. You probably could use any wax and clear coat….but the a.s. Paint really sticks to the metal. I would like to see you make furniture hardware small pieces of art.
