15 fire engines respond to large grass fire in North London during hot weather
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
London Fire Brigade, 100 firefighters arrived to tackle a grass fire at Rammey Marsh in Enfield. Grassland the size of 20 hectares was alight. It comes less than 24 hours since they attended a previous grass fire at the same location with 10 fire engines.

Excellent video Viper, shared it to my fb group 🧑🏻👍🏻🔥🚒
Wow another grassland fire
this seems odd to me ... heading to a grass fire with only plain normal Engines and not a single Tanker among them. Looking into other large cities, let it be Stockholm, Oslo, Berlin, Munich, the fire departments there have also Tankers besides their Engines and Rescue Engines. They're often used both on highways and wildland fires (grass, field, forest, ...). Surprised to see that the LFB doesn't seem to have any of them in the fleet

Most of the time they rely on surrounding brigades that have bulk water tenders. But yes, I think they definitely should invest in at least a couple tenders, especially moving forward after this.

@@tyw7205 that seems weird but thx for the explanation; No need to have a large fleet of Tankers, but a few of them would definetly make sense

Yes the LFB should invest in tankers especially after their second busiest day after ww2. tbh the fire wasn't *that* large . The 15 fire engines were come and go. I was there for like 2 hrs. In fact if you on my page and scroll down I have different perspectives of this incident

We had 6. Then they sold them. Claimed unsafe as driver training rolled one, but the sold ones are back in service with other F&R services.

@@greigs9384 6 what? Tankers? Well of course you have to drive them different compared to an Engine with way less water on board
This is a great vid fantastic footage Ewell put together excellent
Great video
Man! That has to suck fighting a woodland fire with structure turnouts. Hope it wasn't too hot.
They all turned up to see what a grass fire looked like as that is a once in a career situation, LOL
Portable hygiene unit, never seen that before
Good coverage 😀
I was there as well the one with the white shirt

nice to meet you 👍
Loved your vid
Wow coming from Melbourne Australia We have what we call a pumper tanker which is a normal pump ladder that Carrie’s 700 gallons of water on board specifically for grass fires. Even our standard normal pump ladders have a 500 gallon water tank. Perhaps the LFB need to invest in some strategically placed bulk water tenders to cover the outer areas of London.

I live in Surrey which is just outside of London and slightly more rural and we have a whole fleet of Land Rovers and Unimogs around the county for dealing with grass and forest fires, I think its just because they've never really had to deal with wildfires in London that there not equipped for it.

Excellent video, I saw a Scania pump, where is that based? Excuse my ignorance, I stay in Scotland and I’m used to seeing Mercedes pumps in London fire videos?

Action Stations.
The Salvation Army’s catering unit has sirens, but no blue lights, only amber?!?! I wonder what the thinking was behind that?

I don't think it was their vehicle which sounded the audible siren. I have to question if they should have that fire marking in their window.
By North London you mean Manchester.
Nice catch.
Are any British firefighters issued with ‘bush hats’ to protect their heads from the sun, when doing summer jobs that don’t require the full turnout / PPE kit?
Watch them all creep away once the lpp comes out and no one has a clue how To use it haha
