15 Brutal Moments When Bears Hunt Mercilessly

Bears are strong and deadly predators, which makes them great hunters. Even though they’re quite big, they are fast for their size, and they’re great swimmers and tree climbers. Good luck Moments running away from a bear, if you ever meet one! If you want to see how they hunt prey, this is it, so let’s get started.

Bear VS Ground Squirrel
Have you ever seen a bear kill a squirrel? To be honest. I didn’t even know bears killed squirrels, but if you look at the bear in this first video, he’s not doing short sprints, because he’s training for the Olympics. He’s chasing a squirrel and he wants the little rodent badly. Boom! He makes the kill. The bear in this video has already caught an arctic ground squirrel and can be seen carrying it in its mouth, most probably where it can eat the small rodent in peace and quiet. A man hiking came across this grizzly bear digging for ground squirrels outside Whitehorse, in the Yukon Territories, Canada. It was interesting to see how at the end, the bear collapsed on the ground squirrel to finish it off. The grizzly bear in this video is working hard to dig up an unfortunate Arctic ground squirrel, but I’m not sure it finds the sneaky rodent.
Bears Fight
During a fight between two bears, the winner is usually the one who can establish dominance and intimidate the other bear into submission. Brown bears have a complex social hierarchy, with dominant bears holding access to the best resources, such as food and mates. When two bears fight, they will use a variety of tactics to establish dominance, such as standing on their hind legs, roaring, swiping with their paws, and biting. The combatants in this video move out of sight before the fight ends, but if you had to guess, which one do you think walked away with the win? When two bears fight, it can be dangerous and brutal. You can see how ferocious the massive bear in this video is, as it clobbers a much smaller bear in front of a third bear, which could very well be the female they are fighting for.
A massive fight breaks out between a few polar bears, when a cub is confused and attacked by another polar bear's mother, but its mom is there to protect the cub. Both adult bears fight it out, and both clans go their own way, afterward. In this video, a sow with three cubs is taking a big boar’s fishing spot. He was there first. Male bears sometimes kill cubs so they can mate with the female during mating season. This is not mating season, but the mom does not care. They trust humans near their cubs more than bears. People have been bear-watching in this park for over 30 years without any injuries to bears or people, on any professionally guided tour.
These bears have never been hunted, harassed, or fed by humans, so they have a neutral relationship with them. Fights between bears also occur in captivity, and you can see for yourself when two bears battle violently at a zoo. The zookeeper tries breaking up the fight by hitting the bears with a stick when a third bear almost joins the fight as well. In this video, a small disagreement occurs between a mother bear with her cub and another bear which is too close for her comfort. Luckily, both are well equipped to absorb the preliminary warning strikes. While the bears seem relatively unfazed, the exact same strikes performed on a human would fold them up like a patio chair.

That clip with the baby bear and the dog just shows how much raw power bears actually have. That cub instinctively slammed that dog down in a second and stayed in control effortlessly. And there's some people who think we live in a Disney movie and think it's cool and ok to have bears as pets and actually believe that the bear wouldn't hurt them because they are "friends". Blows my mind how nieve and delusional some people are

Predators, such as bears, are not merciless. They are not cruel. They are merely doing what nature programmed them to do. We cannot, and should not, expect otherwise. Nor should we be surprised. Nature is nature, and always will be.

Not true Doug. Mother bears are affectionate, protective, devoted, strict, sensitive and attentive with their young. Not unlike people, bears can be empathetic, fearful, joyful, playful, social and even altruistic. They’re all individuals and have unique personalities. Cubs, as well as older bears, engage in social play and have ritualistic mechanisms to meet strangers and decide if they are friendly or not. Bears routinely distinguish between threatening and non-threatening human behaviour.
