I just want to say thank you for putting this video together. I watched the older one also from a couple years ago where you compared several low cost options. I had been looking for one of these telescoping ladders for my handyman business and was looking hard at the low cost ones. I am very glad I did some looking for reviews and came across your channel. I decided I did not want to risk my life for a few hundred dollars. I ordered the 15.5ft Xtend+Climb Contractor Series 155+ from Lowes who had it for $386.98 before tax. Decided to order the nylon carrying case as well for another $55.

All three look scarily/dangerously bendy and wobbly to me.

Same. This video just made me decide to avoid a telescoping ladder altogether lol. Decided on a Little Giant A frame multi-use ladder instead. Less convenient, but seems a lot safer.

@@jaredemerson1485 Try carrying that one every other day when you have to park 2-6 blocks away from the home/condo you have to inspect in Seattle :D The Xtend & Climb is the one I've used for the last 6 years - perfect so far and has never failed me.

I used my yellow 12' Xtend&Climb for over 5 years. Deploying it multiple times per day in nearly all conditions. Worth every penny. I switched companies and am now buying it for my new job.

Bro you don't need to be 1ft of the wall per 4ft, anything over a 37.5 degree angle is putting undue stress on the ladder, they're designed very strongly to be pushed downwards, and strong enough to support loading at at angle. Putting the angle so you're actually pushing the rungs into the ground not the sides is more dangerous and as shown will break the ladder

I’ve got the 300lb rated 15.5 Pro series and use it for 95% of my inspections. Wash, blow out, and silicone oil the latches and it is is fantastic!

Wait do u reccomend spraying it down with water? Mine after use on multiple inspection a day makes it really hard to open up

I use the telesteps because of the ease of the 2 buttons on the bottom of the ladder. The only complaint about I have about the ladder you like is that the buttons at the bottom wear out and eventually I could barely get the ladder to go down, that and pinching the crap out of my fingers a few times lol I do agree telesteps is flimsy when extended all the way up and I weigh 230lbs but I use the ladder 6 days a week and it's just so easy to extend up and down compared to the other one, especially after they start to wear out. Really appreciate your videos tho and love the work you do, support you 💯% brother! Keep up the good work and God bless!

I'm in new Mexico and we have lots of flat roofs so I have to get above the parapet wall but sometimes I can raise the ladder from the bottom and not have to raise it all the way up. I wish they made the ladder you like with the convinent 2 clips the trlesteps has to lower it. I really do think the ladder you like is way sturdier, I still have my old one in the garage. My telesteps is easier to use but man does it bounce up and down if I'm not careful. And I agree with you on them being sheisty on the 18' because I really could use the extra few feet sometimes.

It's somewhat of a good review after I thought about it and did some research. Initially, I thought Xtend & Climb is the ultimate ladder until you see the price of it! Cripes! Yes, it's probably the ultimate ladder for contractors who can afford it. The review is somewhat flawed in that it is comparing a ladder that is contractor/pro grade vs ladders that are made for occasional DIY use! This review is like comparing oranges to tangerines. I'd like to see comparisons of oranges to oranges. Provide a DIY non-contractor grade telescopic ladder with other non-contractor grade telescopic ladder. I like to see how well the Xtend & Climb home series compared to other Chinese brands and Metaltech ladders that are made for home/DIY use. Unless you're rich and own a house that's over $1M, 95% of homeowners will not buy an Xtend & Climb contractor/pro grade ladder just to use a few times a year around and inside the house. Another few things I noticed and I want everyone to note are: 1) Xtend & Climb and likely most of the ladders made, especially in this video, are made in China. So, just because something is made in China does not mean they're total crap. There are different grades of quality. This will dictate the price. 2) Xtend & Climb, if you take a look at their models and grade, are numerous: a) Consumer DIY Grade b) Consumer DIY Plus Grade c) Pro Grade d) Pro Plus Grade e) Contractor Grade So, this is what I mean about the video comparing Orange to Tangerines. Dimitry needs to compare equal graded ladders with each other, not Contractor and Pro grade Xtend & Climb ladders to Consumer DIY grades that are twice as light and are made for home/RV light usage.

@@cocoshumba2921 It's easy to get fixated on a brand based on reviews people think are reputable. I was trapped into thinking the same way after watching these videos. Sure, Xtend & Climb Pro Contractor version is great if you can afford it and need to use it on a daily basis. However, once I started looking into this and wanted more of a DIY home use, I found out that even the $300 versions of Xtend & Climb is just a flimsy as some of the cheapest Chinese versions of these telescopic ladders. There are videos out there that compares the Pro vs non-Pro versions of the Xtend & Climb ladders and the videos show you the thicknesses of the tubes used. I think people need to do their own research - the more the better. There's so much misinformation that are distributed and a lot of people get sucked into believing on certain brands especially when they're told none of the products are backed by the manufacturers. I always believe there are some kickbacks from the manufacturers, especially when the reviews go viral. People need to be skeptical when things are too good to be true. Proper reviews need to be done empirically and objectively. Unfortunately, even though I find Dmitry to be mostly honest, these ladder videos he has done are not objective and is misleading.

Do they make any ladders that are more than 300lbs? I've done a lot of roofing jobs in my life, and I remember, "back in the day," I used to be able to carry 4 bundles of shingles, up a ladder, 2-3 stories in the air. Not any more though, one bundle is too heavy now!

I've ordered 2 xtend and climb contractor 15.5 ladders from Lowes and both won't retract the bottom 2 rungs. It's super frusterating. I've reached out to the company and watched a bunch of youtube to try to fix but no luck. Any ideas?

Hello - have you tested Aldorr telescopic ladders?

I’m going to go with USTEP Telescoping Ladder. It has triangular shaped leg instead of round legs. Looks more robust, albeit a bit pricey. It’s made in Sweden not Chinese made junk.

Those ladders seem like such a great idea but, I still can’t get myself to use one.

The folding stick ladders are even better for a tradie who works mainly in construction or indoors, much much more used for me because I rarely need an extension ladder. I bought a Kevlar TeleSteps extension ladder and the stick A frame ladder. Amazing for keeping in my personal vehicle because it's a small car (an RR Evoque)

what is the side load capacity of these? for using like a bridge?

Something I recently learned is that it's Illegal to put a CE mark on a piece of equipment that has not passed CE Standards but more interesting is that it's illegal to put a CE mark on a ladder... So if they have a CE mark do not trust them as they are illegal.

Great now ill be calling all my ladders…letters.

Thourough analysis. I moved to an apartment so am looking for flexibility to work in a small environment, where I cannot store a full sized ladder. The 943 AUD price tag puts the Xtend and Climb out of my budget, but very helpful to see the safety featrues, pros and cons. I also value your emphasis on safety, as ladders are the most likely tool to lead amateurs, usually middle-aged men, to the Emergency Room at the hospital.

Oh, man, you are comparing a contractor/pro grade ladder (cost $500) with a ladder that cost only $150 and are made for occasional DIY use. This is not an "apple-to-apple" comparison. All 3 ladders could be locked at any run (they do not have to be extended to their full length), but the reviewer said only his favorite ladder could do this. Also, all three ladders were made in China. The reviewer claimed he's a very reasonable man, but this review video doesn't support his claim.
