Another radio from the CB Radio Bonanza set, a very good condition President Grant (PC-409 PCB), which I have played with many years ago, has a variable power, NZ/FCC band, and FM !
This shows me improving/removing some of the mods, and restoring the NB/ANL circuit back to original.
I didn't completely finish the radio, as I am getting some PCB's made, once they arrive I will continue the improvements in another video.

Funny you bring up the FM board. Me and Mike were talking about them for a good while. Those were originally added to some European radios... the Stalker 20 is one we were talking about. I bought one off ebay just yesterday.

No, a variant of the one you have. Mike actually has several of them. I wanted to add FM + split frequencies to one of my radios that I converted to 10 meters so I can talk on the local repeaters when he told me about these boards. Just need to look around for a modern FM demod that does not need a tank coil. Would like to avoid the inductor if possible.
i have the superstar version of this radio that has am/fm/usb/lsb. havent used it in a long time, been using my 148gtl
I have one of these I was replacing caps in and c175 has a 1000 10v cap. The schematic says it should be a 470uf. Did someone maybe change it for some reason?

possibly, a larger one there would be fine, and probably a good idea.

Hi there. I've got a Uniden Grant pc-409ac. My question is what are the 2 components/part numbers that are on rear of frame between c2166 and c1969. They both have 2 wires coming from them. I ask this as 1 of mine the wire has broken off. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, Paul.

Paul Min - those are MV1Y diodes, they sense temperature and compensate for overheating. You can replace with a silicon diode like a 1N4148
