I had a 1970 Duster in 1977 with a 340. Wish I still had it. Nothing like the smell of Mopar exaust in the morning with a cup of coffee.

What's up with the fake hood scoop it looks like it was glued on and why couldn't you run the exhaust to the back of the car with some nice Mopar tips. Everything else looks pretty nice but why Short change it.

agree on the hood scoop but a lot of times people terminate the exhaust like that to save weight and money. also, it gives the car A LOT more drone around 2000rpm and for some reason, people think thats cool i guess.

Looks good, but looks can be deceiving. If you're looking to buy one of these older vehicles. It's always a good idea to take it in and have it checked out by a professional. They know what to look for. Previous repairs, rust repair, other stuff you might miss just because it looks really good on top. I like these cars, I had a 318 74 Duster. Someone put a built 360 in it. I bought it for $375 at a auction back in about 1997. Fun car...😀

  • 4 жыл бұрын

@@soulerflare7 Don't underestimate that 318 either.. Smallblock Chrysler engines have a unique head design that has little to no exhaust interferences and if built right can hold their own against the big blocks.. Now about that leaning tower of MOPAR.... Although the 225's may not be top performers on the track, you would be hard pressed to find a harder working, more durable and dependable engine. This is no lie...i legit shit u not.. I also had a 74 Valiant that i drove 2 work daily.. One bad winter i had neglected to add antifreeze on MORE THAN one occasion and that water froze rock solid.. Im talking water pump and all had froze locked up tight... I needed to get to work badly and i boiled several pots of water and started pouring it on and inside the radiator... No lie, i got it thawed and started up without a single problem!!! Had it been a chevy or ford engine it would have cracked seals, block and heads. I couldn't believe it and will never forget it.

@@soulerflare7 yep... It was due the aggressive advertising of their day.. I have a 50 year old can of QS that was my grandpas. It was HORRIBLE for inner city engines especially chrysler and Ford motors. Notorious for sludging up a low rpm engine. And the worst thing that could happen was if another owner who aquired it and then started using it on highway mostly. Then the sludge would turn into a rock hard, almost shale like substance. You'd pull the valve covers off and it be like removing a mold. Wouldn't even be able to see the valve springs and rockers lol.. Quaker state was bad....mkay?
