INSTALL VIDEO: Not ready to just take our word for it, and didn't feel like reading through all the install links on the forums? Check out an Install Video & Review by this online blogger who loved the Sierra Spec kit and matching XB fogs. It's a "must watch" if you're considering the upgrade for your truck!

POWERFUL BALLASTS: Morimoto may be known first and foremost for developing the aftermarket’s best HID bulbs, but they’ve also changed the game when it comes to ballasts. The all-new XB ballasts included in this HID lighting system offer the perfect blend of function and style with an industrial-edge design and state-of-the-art technology. Morimoto moved the igniters closer to the HID bulb to mimic OEM and further away from the circuitry to reduce EMI/RFI radio interference and eliminate failures and misfires. We’ve sold thousands of these and use them in our own vehicles. User approved!
******************************
9012 XB BULBS: Let's face it - the Sierra is a great truck, but the stock headlights suck! We hear it all the time from late-model Sierra owners. When installed in Sierra's Projector-based headlights, Morimoto XB HID bulbs will help you instantly achieve your dreams when it comes to a 2014/2015 GMC Sierra headlight upgrade. We put the XB 9012 HID bulbs up against the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K and they produced nearly identical luminosity. Better yet, that bright, color-accurate, and intense beam will last as long as far more expensive OEM alternatives.

Don't. I bought into the XB LED hype and the GMC Sierra version gave me more headaches than the coolness it brought. It's bright, but no clear hotspot in front of you. It reminds me of a flashlight when the batteries need to be replaced. The DOT step is so aggressive. They could have used an ECE slope, but went with a DOT step that reminds me of a staircase. Up close to a wall it's not so bad, but on the road you clearly see the GIANT step on the road at a distance. To make matters worse is this step will be partially in your lane. The light will not go beyond the step, so part of your own lane is in complete darkness. About 1/3 of your own lane. The fix is to point your lights higher, but then you'll blind the shit out of everyone. You can aim your driver side light to the left which helps a lot, but then you'll create a neat square hole of darkness in your lane. This is caused because the beam pattern is not very wide and can't stretch the distance to your passenger side headlight. The fix then is to aim your passenger headlight to the left. Well, congratulations! Now you're aiming both towards oncoming traffic. The cutoff line is sharp which is really cool to look at parked beside a wall or facing a wall. However on the road, in a truck specifically, it sucks. It's terrible because your visibility goes from light to instant darkness beyond the cutoff. So if your truck is leveled or lifted and your headlights are aimed "properly", you'll clearly see the cutoff on the road in front of you. At low speeds it's fine. At 45-55 MPH it's downright scary because beyond the cutoff is complete darkness. On a backroad or low lit city street you'll be anxious to hit your brakes because you can't see shit after a clearly fixed point. Squirrel finders (allowing small amount of light above the cutoff) would have fixed this. I have tried to like these Morimoto XB LED headlights. I've tried adjusting the lights in every way imaginable, but I couldn't...and I couldn't get my $1300.00 back either. Maybe $900.00 on craigslist or offer up if I'm lucky. In short, those XB LED headlights straight up suck. Don't waste your money, bro. My OEM headlights with a good HID kit provided more useful light on the road in front of me and allowed for a stress-free and enjoyable night drive. I'm putting my OEM lights back on after a retrofit. I'm planning to paint the housing, install diode dynamics switchbacks, light smoked klearz top/bottom/sidemarker, and a decent projector with a frensel lense...*possibly* a stock RX350 projector. I'm leaning towards our OEM projector with a 50w ballast, though. I know its beam pattern and cutoff and don't mind it.

@@snooka2484 thanks for the feedback. Makes my think of the led headlights I bought for my Peterbilt a few months back. They’re of course brighter than the halogen but on the road the light is scattered and have to point them up like you said have on these. I’m thinking they are using cheap projectors. Guess I’ll stick to my HID kit for now it has no issues brighting up the road. Thanks again✌🏼

@@snooka2484 haha ya I know what you mean that’s why I spent the $800 on the upgrade. I see the newer Freightliners got some nice bright headlights just make sure your new truck has em. I have a 13 Pete and the 21 models have the same exact crappy headlights. All that money and they can’t even upgrade smh. But I hope you get your new truck soon it’s an awesome feeling. Keep them wheels rollin.

I noticed online you guys only offer 4000, 5000 or 6000 I don’t want the lights to look yellow but also have them somewhat match the daytime running lights would 5000 be my best option? And are the 35 w typically more reliable than the 50W?

I would totally recommend using a relay harness here, that is probably your issue since you drive the Sierra with the beefy lighting system! I have linked the harness that you will need here: www.theretrofitsource.com/hd-relay-9005-H-9005?quantity=1 You will also need a Anti-flicker Capacitor link, and I have linked them for you here: www.theretrofitsource.com/capacitor-link-B-H300?quantity=1
