And it's worth bearing in mind that Sandi's the daughter of an acclaimed foreign correspondent, was educated in Europe and America, has a 1st-class degree from Cambridge, and has been around the world, including, *canoeing across Africa*. Perhaps she's pronouncing it correctly.

So maybe, just maybe, a real live Southern African's pronunciation is the correct version?

9:00 no you wouldn´t. you can´t upscale these things because of a thing called gravity. if you´re only 3mm long gravity almost doesn´t affect you at all. so jumping a meter isn´t that impressive at all.

+Symmetrie Yeah, I always sigh internally at this. Mass scales in three dimensions whereas height scales in one dimension. I remember the Mythbusters learning this the hard way when trying to downscale their bodies into miniature dummies in their early days. As Adam explains the resulting scale dummy weight, Jamie quips "so, you're made of depleted uranium..."

I don't see any problem with the comparison. It is IF you could jump 300 times your length, yes the power required would not be the same comparison!! It is simply a way of showing the length of the jump..........

While I like Sandi in general, she's too subdued too much of the time. While she's explaining things, whenever somebody gets an answer right, etc, it always ends up being way more boring than when Stephen did it. There's no "You're RIGHT!", her tone when she explains is quiet and like a bad university lecturer, she often explains things without even asking a question first...the tone of the show goes up and down from funny and exciting to dead boring and back again a lot now.

The more I watch, the more I can see the flaws in Sandi's style, she was an excellent guest, one of the best, and frankly, she's still probably the best possible host host after Stephen. In later seasons I think the quality of guest declines a bit too, possibly cause of a reduction in funding but I'm just guessing.

Yes, of course, because the constant sex innuendos every 10 minutes, in every single show during Stephen's period were not childish.....Especially when only men were invited, it was unwatchable. They all acted like virgin boys in a school yard imagining how it would be to see someone naked.... The last years with Stephen were annoying at times and I tend to believe that was because he was not happy anymore with the show (and how it was recorded) and didn't care as much. Sandi is great, fresh and brought life again in the show. While I do think that the show lasted as much due to Stephen, I do think that it was time for him to go and Sandi as his replacement was the best idea.
