Just became a new subscriber, new to bourbon, and also picked up your variety pack bourbon glasses. Love your content! I live about 5 miles from the Spillway Wine and Spirits in Brandon, Ms. They put me on to some nice bourbons. Loved that video.

Big fan , I’m curious if you have ever had taconic distillery single malt whisky , made in ny!
That looks like a good time. Everyone was so friendly and passionate about bourbon!
Recent subscriber and relatively new in the bourbon/whiskey world of wonders that it is. I really enjoy this channel. Good dry humor, speaking truthfully instead of buttering up all the time, and a very nice timber in the voice. There is a canyon of knowledge difference between me and TJ but I’m working on it. Between my brother, father and myself we are always doing some sampling and blinds from bottles we buy. It’s a lot of fun and cheaper than therapy.
Not only do you make the best videos, but you bring out the best in the distillers and the people around you. I really enjoyed this video.

When my wife and I toured the Distillery in May of 2022, Brian told us that the mold for their bottles was purchased from old forester and was their old birthday bourbon bottle.

Not just French Oak, but STAVES! 🤯
I know y’all love looking for local bourbons and especially farm to table stuff done by small distillers. You should definitely check out Wood Hat bourbon in Florence, MO. They do some really cool bottles and grow, distill, and bottle themselves. Spreading some love for the home state, love that y’all are doing the pick with Ben Holiday too!
What I loved about your vids and I guess others do to us that I’m learning so much about the culture of Bourbon and whiskey, being that, I always just drink it to get drunk my whole life
Super cool visit, thanks!
Wow! I love 13th Colony! Need to make the trip down from Atlanta to visit them sometime.
looking forward to getting down there asap!
Man, that looks like so much fun!
I so want to do a barrel pick with you. Great stuff.
That looks like so much fun to do. I wish there were bourbon distilleries near me 😢
It's a real unique bottle too.
Joined your patreon for this, epic video from an amazing distillery, keep this up!
I've been hunting for one of those 13th Colony Double Oaked for months. I've just missed getting a bottle twice. I'm in one more raffle that hasn't picked yet and hoping my number comes up. Depending on if I'm picked early enough it'll be between the 13th Colony and Maker's Cellar Aged for me to choose from if both are left. And that'll be a touch choice.
Definitely going to have to find a double oak but probably be stuck waiting till next spring.
Watching all the different people at the distilleries makes me want to to support these different distilleries!

Lazy Magnolia Brewing out of Mississippi did a nice sweet potato cream stout many years ago and it was really interestingly delicious.
I’m so lucky to have this distillery right down the road from me! What great liquor they are making. Wait until you taste their aged gin coming out spring next year as well.

Same here! I've switched to their rye for my daily drinker. And that aged gin is amazing. I'm not a big gin person, but I'll be buying a few bottles of it when it comes out.
I finally found the 95 proof bourbon and Rye while on a business trip in St. Louis and they both were phenomenal. I'm a fan.
“Thats all that will go to market” So im never getting a double oak 😂
Awesome! I live in Americus
Bro, I’m right down the road from this place!
Funny thing about the Sweet Potato whiskey is that I thought about how cool it would be to do a sweet potato whisky just last week.
You should try and develop a palate for scotch. Some of the best whisky tasting in the world is had with good scotch whisky. I love bourbon also, so it can be done !!
I'm damn near certain I've never had a bourbon but this channel puts out such incredible content that Im totally hooked and even though I dont think I could ever tell any of these notes appart if I tired anything watching the passion is so motivating. That may be a neat video idea "complete Bourbon rookie gets crash course from Brewzle" with someone you know to show them around your stash

I'm almost 15 years into my bourbon adventure and still not that great about picking out notes, but they key is to just continuously try new bourbons, most especially side by side with one another, and just simply think about the difference in taste that YOU are tasting. Taste is 100% completely, absolutely, subjective. Every single person's palette/tongue is slightly different or majorly different and everywhere in between. Dive in and start with the cheap big name bourbon brands to start and just have fun with it and share with friends/family for good times.
Just wanted to send you a HUGE thanks for always including subtitles ✨😅

I could sit around and listen to you talk for hours
I’d love to see a review on Howler head banana bourbon
The only bad part about this video is that the price of 13th colony went up 25% at my local liquor store the next week.
It's a vodka they make out of sweet potatoes and it's good. I have some in a small barrel now. Hoping it turns out really good. Been in for 3 months now. Want to go a year then try it.
When you get a chance, buy a bottle of Balcones True Blue 100, aged blue corn whiskey from TX. It is good & interesting! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Man... that sweet potato whiskey sounds amazing
You got to try some Evan Williams Spiced Cider with some bottled in bond some pineapple juice with a splash of fever tree ginger beer, it won’t disappoint, more or less equal amounts of each
Come to Massachusetts to hunt! Would love to go with you!

that whiskey sounds so good but that sweet tater one that sounds real interesting i am with the distillers i would not know how to market it i would not even know where to cauterize it with the mash they did you would think it's a volca that is aged and tast like a whiskey baced on what you said

Maybe being in Americus they can do a special peanut bourbon for Jimmy Carter sometime

I’m going to 13 colonies tomorrow any recommendations before I hit it up?
2 hours until video Already 4 people waiting.
Great place really love what theyre doing. Love the know nothing dip shits in comments also talking about sourcing
Debating between old elk double wheat masters blend, or old elk sour mash batch 3 I think, any insights?
French Oak Barrels are like $3,000 for a 60 gallon barrel they are pricey and they go much higher depending on who makes them some cooperages are unobtanium wicked expensive. I tend to buy Hungarian for the winery or american oak cause a american 60 gallon is $1200 a Hungarian is $1500 and its just cheaper a lot cheaper. American Oak works well with Zinfandel though.

Is the use of American oak the flavor profile you want to go for?
@pilsplease7561
7 ай бұрын
American Oak in the case of wine tends to be medium, medium plus or heavy toast, and tends to provide, baking spices, chocolate and vanilla notes to wines and I find that it tends to be quite pleasing when you dont go too heavy handed as it is significantly stronger than french or hungarian oak is and you will over oak some wines if you are not careful. We use a lot of american oak here at the winery with bigger bolder reds, Zinfandel, Merlot, Cab Sav or Cab Franc, Tempranillo and stuff like that @@numanuma20

Woodford Double Oaked, and Woodford Rye. Both super common, both amazing, both some of the best value on the market for the low price, period.
Sadly, they don't distribute up to my state.
There’s a company in my county that fairly new called Soldier of the Sea distillery might be worth checking out. I have tried anything personally but I want to! The are in Comer Ga.
Ended up winning one of the 15th anniversary bottles but i cant pick it up as i live in missouri and cant make it work to get down there in march . Any chance you all want to go pick it up?

Amen! Brewzle is either getting played or he is complicit in their deception. Ever seen fill holes in the tops of barrels that will be stored on their sides by the distiller?
I've got an idea for you. The next time you come for a tasting test. Come with Coasters with your branding but have A, B C on them You get your brand out there and it limits any confusion.
I am shocked you are completely skipping over the fact that this Distillery doesn't exactly distill anything. The top loaded barrels give a lot away....there are a lot of inquiries going on and it's not looking good as it seems lying by omission is their thing. Why do we never see them actually distilling anything?

Weird take honestly. They source some whiskey and distill some. They say on their website that they source and distill. Kind of weird you only listened to rumors and didn’t investigate it yourself or go to the distillery personally before putting that kind of accusation on the internet. It would have taken minimal effort to not try and slander a hard working small business.
@marcgarrett5427
6 ай бұрын
Where are you getting your information, and what's your point? Their website explicitly says they distill some themselves and source some from a contract distiller using their mash I'll. This is much more common than you know evidently, even some of the really big names do the same or source and then redistill. You could give the same distillate to 10 different people and you'd end up with 10 different whiskeys. It's the aging and the finishing that makes it unique. Or are you claiming they are buying finished product?
@JamesWebbFitness
3 ай бұрын
The issue is the bottle doesn't say where it's sourced from (state) and they are very cagey with the information they present.
