I loaded up and shot some 130gr TGK today 10/26/2023, with 8208xbr. I used 25.8, 26.1, and 26.4gr powder loaded at 1.660 CBTO. With 26.4gr i was tickling just shy 2300fps, and had a group about 1.15-1.20" at 100yds. *edit My build is a 18in SOLGW barrel 1:8 twist.

Good to know! I just picked up the last box on the shelf and have the same barrel. Unfortunately, I don't have any 8208, but have plenty of AR COMP.

I would like to see if the node would be 26.3 or 26.5 26.6gr with that heavy bullet? thanks for sharing.

Also maybe try the 450 magnum primers next with the same ladder test especially in cooler temps.

@@joshanderson1749 Here in the midwest the temps have picked up recently 50's and 60's. Not sure when the next chance I get to test in cooler temps. At the current time I am out of the 450 primers. Thanks for the comment and the view!

I could try 26.3-26.6, normally don't load with variations less than .2 grains. Would be interesting to see the accuracy would hold together from 26.3-26.6 as those charge weights are so similar. May be something I should try in the future.

It's essentially a tipped Game King bullet

Just curious if you know how far of the lands you were at that COAL? I really only measure CBTO for consistency. Great Video!

In this video jump to the lands was 0.086". Thank you for the kind words!

@@RobsReloading Just curious if you have played with it closer? I have read in semi's you can be farther, but bolts you can take to .020 or closer. Max mag length for me on a ELDM is 2.305, so I can actually load a little more powder and not increase pressure. Going to be experimenting with this when it dries out down here in SE Louisiana.

@@kencarpenter108 my magazines only allow for an OAL of around 2.3". In this bullet I havent tried any longer because I dont want to single feed. I tried some rounds close to the lands single fed in one of the early RDF videos and wasnt blown away by the results.

@@RobsReloading Will drop a note once I get some testing done. Basically, looking for the best combo of accuracy and velocity. Thanks for the info. Have a good day.

It's a tipped game king, not a match king

Sierra has both a tipped match king and a tipped game king. These are the tipped game king.
