I've always prided myself with being my team's defensive stopper, even if my offensive game needs work. I also picked up EGT 2.0 to help that out, and so far I love it.

Same lmao I'm 13 and 5'8 so I can't really shoot well because I'm taller than I should be but my defense helps because I'm fast Strong and have a good vertical for play making lmao if I get taller I'm gonna dominate in paint but for now I can't dunk
@mikolajstrozewski
2 жыл бұрын
taller than you should be? that applies only to freakishly tall players whose hands are too big to shoot the ball and they don't care to work on that, make no excuse to be unable to shoot at 5'8 when you're 13 years old, because you can say bye-bye to becoming a better player
I like the part where Coach tells you to just turn and run, don't slide. I was taught to always slide all the way to the rim to keep a wide profile, and I've been burned so many times that way. I always thought I wasn't sliding fast enough, but it makes perfect sense that no one can slide as fast another person who is running. Thanks for clearing things up, coach!

I got a question so I'm in eighth and every time I'm 1v1ing or guarding PG I put my had on there hip so if they drive I can mess them up a bit but dont know if it's a foul and 2 if I hollow out they normally go for a shot instead of a layup wat should i do
@SummitMedia28
2 жыл бұрын
It is a foul but may not get called every time. Try having less distance between you and the player when hollowing out. It’s the space he feels from you that makes him feel comfortable taking an open shot.

What i do is i stay squared up then instead of turn first or get close first i do both at the same time. They can't break your ankles if you dont give them space.
@SauceGod.999
2 жыл бұрын
Nah they can, I'm a great defender and have used many techniques and and I get a hold of my opponents tendencies, but if they get a little space off u they can work their combo under pressure mixed with a snatch back or chicken wing and throw you off balance, or simply blow by you.
@fxstdribbler6427
2 жыл бұрын
@@SauceGod.999 no bro what im saying is youre already close to them youre squared up and as they stepback you moving with them. The only way they breaking your ankles is if they push off. Which many players do nowadays.

Well. my play mates hate getting the ball now when I'm on D
5:39 if I was in the offense I would let you beat me to the spot and I'll step back half way. Defense is super risky
Though I like these videos, I am not a proponent of watching "midsections." We play the basketball. A player can do things with the basketball, putting the defender behind him defensively, by playing their mid section..ijs.

The most important thing in defense is having a killer mindset just let them hurt you first then say it for protecting yourself...

That's forcing him right. Shouldn't you force him left
Just lock him up
PS TWO FOR FLINCHING
1:48 hmm that's actually not true... you are giving them a easy driving angle with their dominant hand...
Sorry coach, I highly disagree with crossing over your feet when defending someone. As you showed it is very easy to get crossed up (17:30). Once I see you cross your feet I'm going the other way and even if you recover I'll change directions again keeping you off balance. It's a good technique but you need some really quick feet.
