Quarterlights were superseded by full-length windows (because "luxury" and everyone's an aspirationalist) and they provided significantly *more* airflow than full-size windows ever will. T(arga)-tops were a response to an expected law that didn't eventuate. No law, no requirement. Cassette decks were superseded by CD players which were, in turn, superseded by bluetooth devices as stated. Have never seen a car tape player eat the tape. Almost no bumpers ever altered the handling dynamics of the car they were fitted to. Video is titled "13 unusual Car Features that Flopped". Proceeds to list electronic ignition and state that it is standard. Rear-facing seats have been proven in numerous studies to be inherently (dramatically so) safer in collisions than forward-facing seats. Of course, the tested seats had head-supports. Notice, also, that head supports became standard for all car seats, regardless of which direction they faced. Mechanical fuel injectors...have been standard on diesel engines since, well, they were invented. Whole list sounds like a Millennial's kid's school project.

Definitely AI.. NO way anyone could miss 8 track player. Cassette players were an update over 8 Tracks. 🤣😂 Missed Landau roofs too. Hmm never heard of a swivel seat.

how can you say these things as flops.. they are the evolution of what you take for granted today, if you did your home work you would have found there was a specific function "less aesthetics" for each item leading to what today's cars have, for exp: quarter glass or vent glass was there because AC wasn't something every car came with, so these items ain't unusual or flops.. "it's evolution" get it right...

yup, this video is total trash. like how can they say that cassete tapes are a flop? or distributor ignition? those where used for decades but just were replaced by more efficient and more reliable electronics

Catalytic converters require UN-Leaded fuel, not leaded which would destroy that converter, might want to correct that factoid my brother!

Needs a lot of work - pictures matching content, explanations, higlights of 'features of the 70s' that were confined to one car line (i.e. those swivel bucket seats on GM A bodies) and the concept itself - many of these features were actually wildly successful (cassette decks). Try again.

I going to say your being subjective not objective in your presentation. I liked many of the options your trashing in your video. My parents Had a massive Mercury wagon with a rear facing seat and it held all twelve of us very comfortably and my healey has vent windows and it circulates the air in rainy weather. The 4track wasn't the greatest but it worked if maintained and t tops were just for picking up chicks. Not the greatest idea but stylish for the time. And cars without a/c we used 4-60 a/c roll down all 4 windows and go 60 miles per hour and it worked! 😁. But.now rear windows don't usually go all the way down.🙄. But these were just prototypes which became refined in updates.

Why must you add noise and 'snowflakes' to the video? Yeah, it's to make it look old and retro. But it doesn't enhance the viewing experience one little bit and it's irritating in the extreme. You get a thumbs down from me.

0:39 yeah, but NO. It's cheaper to make a one piece window. More airflow is obtained from wing windows while moving then rolling down the windows. 2.27 okay you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Your showing mechanical spark timing systems trying to say they are electronic. 3:14 funny you said they outlawed them in the 70's when your showing one from 1990's Buick Roadmaster Okay I've had enough this video is utter trash.
