I love the consistency with the writing. It makes that when Jenna made that wish she was still a kid, so she still had the innocence of a child. It's extra funny because she didn't know what a one night stand was, which again it makes since because mentally she's psychologically underdeveloped.

I was 9 years old back then. I’ll be 29 for my next birthday. I always love how this movie portrayed the 30s as the true prime of adulthood years, rather than the early 20s. It’s so true. The late teens to early 20s were so awkward, boring, and lonely for me. It wasn’t until my mid-late twenties that I started to feel old enough to know better, but young enough to still feel great.

I agree. I have it. When I played it for my girlfriend, she said this movie has the best sound track ever. She and I are big 80's fans. So for a present, either birthday or Christmas, I got her her own copy of the soundtrack. She told me she listens to it all the time. She even likes to play it when we're in the car together.

P L Yes but when your forehead looks pink it looks weird. Bronzer gives a tan. So putting blush is still weird.

My one criticism of this film is that much of the music in it was pre-1987 -- like Jenna's love for Rick Springfield, which would have been more appropriate for 83 or 84. Should have been someone like George Michael. But they completely nailed "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" -- the song was climbing the charts at the time of Jenna's birthday in 1987. And yes, I spent far too much time thinking about things like this.

The image we have as kids of the 80's began, memoratically at 1980, sure. But the MTV/Thriller symbiosis began the decade as far as most of us are concerned. The phase timing of the movie is off, but the spirit of the 80's lives in this movie. That's how the writers nail the whole Pat Benatar tit shaking, MJ Thriller and the spirit of Whitney's early hits, all in the same span. All without mentioning George Michael or even Wham!. In 15 years, this movie will get more credit that it gets now.

1987 MJ would have been "Bad" ("Thriller" would have been considered lame and "old"), Dirty Dancing, Tiffany (I Think We're Alone Now), and WHERE'S U2?!? That was their biggest album.

This is one of those movies that makes you feel the 80s again. It gave that nostalgia factor 100 percent. The soundtrack fit all of the scenes perfectly.

Down the memory lane I walked, after seeing this clip. I was in my twenties when Whitney came up with this lovely song.

bro I love the beginning sequence when Jenna exits out of the lavatory with steam coming up giving me Jenna mermaid vibes I was like "GODDAMN JENNA LOOK AT U GIRL!!!!" I mean Jenna is truly a mermaid like GODDAMN 😍😍

Did anyone else notice how they kept coming back to the pattern of the scarf she was wearing in the over her eyes closet sequence. First it was on her eye mask when she woke up. Then it was on the skirt part of her dress at the end of this clip 🤔

So if any of you had seen LOVE, SIMON there are weird incidences that these two movies have. 1 - In 13 Going On 30, it starred Judy Greer and Jennifer Garner who played Nick Robinson's respective moms in Jurassic World and Love, Simon. 2 - This very same song had Nick Robinson danced to in a Whitney Houston number sequence; which also starred Jennifer Garner as Nick's mom.

I remember when I was twelve watching this and I saw all those shoes and I almost fainted. Now that I'm almost thirty I only have 6 pairs, which is a huge change out of the 14 I had through my teen years.
