My husband and I are really enjoying your videos, especially how you highlight the difficulties of travelling by bike. We are planning a trip this summer after not doing any bike touring for 25 years, we're getting lots of ideas from you. Thanks so much.

I really appreciate your honesty and for not sugar coating the facts. You have helped me make an informed decision to forgo Portugal on my bike packing holiday in Europe. I hope to see more of your adventures and open, factual commentary. Well done to you. PS: cleaning a tent never crossed my mind, thanks for the suggestion 👍

What an amazing place to wake up, sure beats that awful campground. We've just finished a cycle tour around Europe, and i would not be liking that hill! Great freedom camping spots and look forward to seeing what cycling in Greece is like.

@@biking_beyond We cycled through France starting in Cherbourg, then along the EV6 through the Loire valley, then the EV15 up the Rhine, then from Dusseldorf we cut across to Dunkirk. About 2700 kms, was so awesome! We stayed in campgrounds, but would love to try some freedom camping like you guys.

Wow that sounds awesome! The good part about freedom camping on your route would be almost no dangerous animals, wildfires or Landmines! We reduced Wildcamping because of the three now :(

You certainly choose the most dangerous countries to ride a bike. Greece is pretty low on the list of best countries to ride a bicycle. Wild dogs are a big problem. I saw an horrific video where a Dutch cyclist was chased by a pack of wild dogs. She took refuge in a church which just happened to be open. Some came a few hours later and helped her escape. I always book an AirBnB for my last night or couple of nights before I fly. This enables me to get all my stuff organised and find a bike box or cardboard for packing up my bike whether full sized or my Brompton. If my Brompton I ride it to the airport if possible or take a train or bus which are generally very cheap. With a large bike box you generally need a taxi which can be $$$$$ which you need to factor in. Flying with my Brompton is the easiest. However the best way is to travel by train or boat, but I guess this is determined by how much time you have. I always try and clean my bike before packaging in case it get's opened and some one doesn't like the debris on it coming into their country.

Voll die schönen Plätze in Portugal. Ob es wohl stressig war die Sachen am Flughafen zu packen?? Das kam jetzt gar nicht so rüber...🤪

Greece, nice! I bet you'll never tour in Portugal with a bike again, will you? :-) Take the bike in the plane doesn't seem easy at all, I doubt I will ever do that.

Probably not, you are right about that😁 And about the flying, we just did everything wrong that can be done wrong 🤣 after the flight I said I would never fly with the bike again, but if you do it better than we did (eg just invest money in a taxi to the airport and a hotel for the night before your flight) it could work out wayyyy more relaxed! At least that’s what I think 😅

My girlfriend and I did the EN2 (Chaves- Faro) in September, in 9 days. You are right about the car drivers. But.... It's amazing how you can only say bad things about your trip in Portugal. If you go to a place that you pay 7€ to sleep, what are you waiting for?? You even said bad things about the birds that shit in the tent 🙄 What about the people, the weather, the landscapes, the food, etc.. ?! To have adventures you can't be so negative. Next time, try to look more on the bright side. It will be easier to your legs and your head. Just saying. I hope that you still have good adventures and i really wish the best for you. 😉

Oh yeah next time I will be thankful for the bird poop on the tent that I have to scrap off 😁 on a more serious side: I said a million times how beautiful the landscape is, if not enough in this video I am sure I did in the others. But sometimes you are also experiencing bad things, like not being able to sleep for days because of ignorant people or noise on the campground. And in my opinion it is totally okay to talk about those things too. And to my defense, as a vegetarian Portuguese food sucks 😂 there is nothing to eat except the bakery items, which are amazing ☺️
