I watched your other diy video making this light. I'm not terribly familiar with LED light strips. Did it come with the exposed wires to attach your cord or did you have to strip it to expose them?

It had wires attached. Very easy to solder and connect

So it's been almost a year... Was the heat shrink tubing a good idea? Did it let water get behind it? Planning on building from your first video. Not sure about the second. How did it work out?

Fishing has been terrible for me but the light is doing great. No water has come in and it’s protected.

my lights only worked about 4 to 6 hours and quit. I even tried hooking it up direct.

Sir I'm a fisher man here in Philippines. How I wish I will have LED green light .. I'm searching here in my place in davao province I can't see like that ..😢😭 Almost every night I'm fishing using only LED bright light.. sometimes good catching but almost bad..

Use a heat gun.
