This guy has been my best friend for 25 years and the only thing cooler than the buggy is being friends with a dude like snap. Im glad everyone loves the buggy ... the guy that built it is equally worth the love. If only we were smarter and recorded all the dumb shenanigans we have done... lol. Looking forward to many more trips. Lsfest comes soon enough.
I have seen a lot of hot rod builds in my day but this one is just made it into the top three just laying eyes onto it. My hat is off and just crazy mad respect for such a build like this.

which are the others? got links?
I can’t decide which is better, the buggy or how much fun “Snapper” had talking about it, building it, and owning it. Bravo!
It needs an "Aaaa OoooGah" horn.
As a trucker/owner operator for 24 years with Cat power under the hood....that might be the coolest ride I've ever seen!!
That is one of the coolest rigs, maybe the coolest rig I've ever seen. Thanks for the video!
10 years. For ten years this guy has owned, worked on, cursed at, and lived with this beast and yet still reverts back to a little kid when he talks about it. I hope nothing more than for him to have that same unbridled enthusiasm tens years from now.
And he's a fellow "Yinzer" a "'Burgher" to boot! Awesome vehicle, awesome build! Love it!
"I built it because I wanted to drive it" literally the heart and soul of the automotive obsession, he's built one sweet rig, and it's hilarious that it's got air brakes that actually worm
Excellent build. Very unique. Looks great!
This guy's a RIOT! One of the best interviews you've done. Great guy and great car
That is hands-down the coolest build I have ever seen. I'm sick of all the stereotypical rat rods and the same thing everyone does over and over. I don't think I will ever see another build cooler than this nice job dude!
What a super cool idea to put together. This is the essence of hot rod right there. I admire his attention to getting all the details right and really pulling this off 110%
Speachless! Perfection! I love every single bit of this thing! ZERO Complaints... just blown away! We have seen these kinda builds before, but this might be the best one yet. I think what makes these extra cool is they are so similar to how things where done 80 - 100 years ago, and its probably my favorite era of cars, and I love trucks, so its the best of both worlds for me!

The only complaint is it isn't in your driveway.😂
So the guy with a square body tank does a story on a guy with a CAT powered Studebaker. Perfect! 🤘🤘🤘
The ass-end of a loader, meeting you going down the highway... I wondered why that grille seemed so familiar! Super build.
That man deserves all the credits. It is truly a wonderful build. It is so well done that you would almost think that it is an original vehicle. And I really love the blend with old and new. It is done with good taste. Big 👍
Coolest hotrod ever with an awesome owner.
That’s the coolest ride I’ve seen in a LONG time. And love all that turbo whistle !

And the jake brake.
Wow, thats a very fun man, i really like the way he explains all, he deserves all the fun he can have in that beautiful Hot Rod. Nice work documenting this
For a non-car guy at the time of this build, he knocked it out of the park! What an imagination and love for an idea - great build! Nice one Rich, "If I break it, I get to buy it!"
Can’t believe he didn’t name it Cat Rod, great project.
This guy is Awesome, what a cool guy to allow him to drive and talk all day
This is quite possibly the coolest rat rod I've ever seen, its so well done and all done by hand, I love that it still has an eaton trans and a Jake brake that works. This guy needs to be seriously proud of what he built

Way to nice to call it a Rat Rod! 99 percent of them are junk. This is a True custom Hot Rod. Well built.
This is hot rodding! A regular guy builds a really cool car because he wants to. No drama, just awesome!
What a cool build, I bet it gets as many smiles and waves as anything on the road!! I love how he used the ass end out of a pay loader as the front of the car, I seen that right away 👍
Definitely in the top five epic builds that i have ever seen, props to that totally rad dude, for not even limiting himself to thinking outside of a box. Y'all take care.
That moment when you see yourself in one of your favorite KZreadrs videos..
Radiator cowling doubles as a bumper 😎👍 Awesome build Not easy first time shifting lol Really enjoyed watching

With air ride, could make it a cow catcher also.
That thing is beastly!!! Poor guy had to learn to rev match... Still worth it!!!
I’m a truck driver 45 years I would so drive that thing every day it is amazing what that man has done
Excellent! You've done a terrific job, just so good. Love the C series loader styled radiator cowling. If you do another, maybe don't use the C15 as it makes its power at higher revs & it won't like what you'll be asking of it. Use the C16 instead, its much more tractable, its power is all off the bottom. BTW, I'm in Western Australia & retired now, but lifelong Cat fan, 3406B & 3408B to E's & right on through to C15 & C16 NZs. I ran Cat powered roadtrains out to our remote desert mines pulling triple & quad trailer configurations. Huge KW fan too, started with the W model (Aust built version of your A's) & finished with the T904s our version of your W900, but the cabs are raised apx 18 inches so consequently the bonnets are commensurately tall. This is to house the additional cooling capacity required, anyway the last model to be fitted with Cats before they were withdrawn from the market. I don't know why I'm telling you all this, but the thing is, check the C16, its a much better fit for what you want to do.

Watched this for years. COOL CAT!!!
High Five Buddy. That's the coolest damn thing I've seen in a long time.

That is a genuine work of art, so very cool and unique. OK Rich, when will you build something similar?
The only open wheel hot rod that tows a backhoe on a trailer.... cooooool
This is one of the greatest things I have ever seen on KZread
It doesn’t get any better than this one!
Love how he did it. He had no idea about engines he found a way to fix that. He didn’t know how he just worked out a way to make it possible. That’s the way to go.
Such an amazing build, and all in 9 months, what an effort, what a machine
Awesome build and story and from my hometown!! How did I never see this? Now I have to see it in person!
I like this guy. I wish I wasn't working today id like to go see it. If you read this. You did a really nice job good work!
He was right on you when you tried the "I break it I buy it" trick 🤣
Definitely one of the coolest builds I've seen in a long time. Years ago I drove a late 90s Western Star dump truck with a Caterpillar C12 and an Eaton Fuller 18 speed. Based on tread width and axle spread gross max weight was 103,200 with the four axle pup trailer. One of my all time favorite engine transmission setup, was a little underpowered at max weight, but truck only and no pup trailer, it was perfect. Cheers.
This is 100% a great idea.
I would daily drive the heck out of this awesome build too cool 😎 👍
SNAPPER'S BUGGY! Used to look up as many videos as I could find on this thing. I wish I could build and/or own something like that!
Wow, did you pick THE perfect rod/truck/car to review on your channel this time. What a cool build and video. Thanks, this was awesome in every sense of the word...
I would drive that CAT everyday, I absolutely love it. 👍👍👍 Good to see Jared and Tavarish as well.
Smart, fun guy. Awesome build! The desiel engine with turbo. So distinctive!
Nice ride. Just leave it in the high side. Start off in 6th and float the gears till you need to stop. Good video.

One unique and awesome build thanks for the video
You should make you own version of this, would be so epic.
Hats off to this man , by far one of the coolest builds I have ever seen
That is by far the coolest ride I have ever seen, it is unique and great looking "Snapper" did a great job putting the beast together. Thanks for sharing.
That was one of the coolest rides I've seen in a long time. Having owned one I especially like the Studebaker part, mine was a bullet nose.
It would have been hard for me to let that dude drive my machine, especially after seeing he couldn't float the gears in a synchronized transmission. Personally from experience I would have geared it lower to let the engine work at about 1800 and still got excellent fuel mileage. Perfect build, would love to build one myself, you've got me thinking now. Lol
Thanks for the share. Hope this generates youngsters to dream/build/show things. Awesome.
this was an awesome episode! Thoroughly enjoyed it and I can tell that you thoroughly enjoyed filming it.
this is really cool, he needs to be on the channel again! this was an awesome video!! Thanks keep up the great content

What a beautiful machine! Really awesome build!
Absolutely love that, and the fact that the builder basically had no idea what he was doing!! That makes it so much better! I remember that Monster Garage episode...I was like 17...I thought that was SO COOL with the engine being most of the frame and body.
I remember seeing this at the local car cruise. Definitely agree that it was the coolest ride there! You da man, Snapper!
the background music of tires ripping constantly is epic !! amazing build, well done !!
Finding the CAT guy in a bar and getting him to help. What great story. You car people are amazing.
