Great video! Some weeks ago I was also keen to see what is on the pcb. My idea was to play with the amplifier an the board. On my Chinese board are some more passive components as on yours! But it is some years older…. Yesterday night I repeated the measurement with my VNA (Siglent SVA1032) and got the same response. Again learned something from your channel! Thanks for this!

light stuff that moves? If you can't clamp it, I've tried stick on rubber feet. But for temporary use blutack is incredibly useful.

Fun.... would also be interested in antenna gain compared to a full size patch antenna - i.e. without the ceramic core.

I was wondering if you’ve had to do any repairs to any of the PCBs of your Nano’s. I thought I’d ask you first before attempting the rabbit hole that is Group IO. I’ve the SAAV2 model of nano vna. While it was charging it was bumped of the table and sheared the usb-pcb(conn 301) connector from the board. Fortunately it soft landed but it has not worked ever since. I’ve been through the schematic(s) from GitHub and elsewhere . The resettable fuse seems fine. The only anomaly other than not powering up, is that some of the LEDs that illuminate on power up , don’t pass a diode test with a multimeter. The LEDs don’t appear to be protective in the schematic. I’ve checked for shorts to ground, opens, et cetera, ad nauseum. Any insight or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.Thanks- Jason Burchell

there is nothing inside. it is just a very fat PC board made of ceramic

is this a valid result? There is an unpowered preamp in series with the antenna.

@@IMSAIGuy I would agree that this is a valid test, but I am curious how the amplifier would look. I'm sure you have a bias tee! I'm mostly curious about phase shift as time correlation is the primary use of such a device! Also what other modes arise if the impedance has any mismatch. Great video as always! P.S. I'm curious as I use a very similar model for my GPSDO but lack the convenience to measure it myself as its tucked away under insulation in my attic!

First Smith chart you showed was set to S21, which explains why it looked wrong

yes, since I have a real VNA, I don't use the nano very much.

Could you pls explain, how the CIA dropped WTC 1 and 2 and dismissing WTC3? And what about the fake moon travels from the Yanks? We tried to find the Armorican flag with a German made telescope and failed. Are u Yanks the best movie (lie) creators ever?
