the only time i ever defeated the mega ordo the bounty one that has like 10 fucking radiants and 70 alpha cores was shitting as many dmodded frigates out of my colony to rush them i think a good 30% had 3+ dmods and i ended with a total fleet of 130 frigates the only survivors were two omens(excluding the legion of fuel ships required to lug them all there)

The Germans have something to say about that. Statistics show that the German tiger tanks killed 11 enemy tanks on average for each tiger lost, but lose them they did. Hilariously they conform to the high tech vs. low tech doctrine almost to the letter: Tiger tanks were terrors on the battlefield but suffered a lot more out-of-combat problems due their high precision engineering made them more prone to technical difficulties and breakdowns than the less finnicky allies tanks. They simply got outnumbered.

Id probably die too if i had 300+ harpoons launched at me.

Ships so absolutely brilliantly engineered they don't even NEED a flux grid.

This is the Starsector equivalent of a zerg rush.

The classical Peasant Mob technique can defeat even the greatest enemies.

This is literally the physical embodiment of "when gun no work apply more gun"

god imagine flying in this fuckin fighter formation "ALL FIGHTERS. FUCK THIS GUY UP" you hear, as you and 200 other thunders turn to a single tesseract

The whole draw of the Buffalo, and really any of the low tech vessels, is the ability for multiple allies to concentrate firepower on the same target. Sure, the Buffalo is just about the softest bundle of wet toilet paper on the battlefield. But four to six Buffalos screened by a tough detatchment of enforcers and monitors significantly increases your fleetwide DPS without needing a direct line of sight. Buffalos are basically really big, slow bombers.

The game was modded to allow more than 30 ships in your fleet... He deployed 60 ships and lost 27, this is just for the memes

@@Beregorn88 I normally play with the mod that limits fleet size by deployment cost rather than just numbers. It... honestly makes much more sense, and gives you a reason to have an actual diverse fleet build rather than just all your best ship.

@@TK-nn8jd I admit that my knowledge of starsector is not very deep, but, as far as I know, in vanilla the fleet size is capped to 30, period. No skill, no ability, no increased maintenance, just 30 ship maximum.

using the tac laser as an activation system for the harpoons is absolutely brilliant

Ya know, I had a mod a ways back that set the fleet limit to be based on DP instead of ship count. The DP? 600. I'm -heavily- contemplating reloading that mod on a save to see what mischief 600 DPs can get up to.

The most reliable ship in my playthrough is a Buffalo MK2 I scavenged on combat encounter #2. It has exploded at least 8 times but keeps returning to action.
