I remember my first ML experience at Kief’s on Iowa. Loved that place. Miss it. Wish there was a place like it in Lawrence still. They were playing Norah Jones, and it must have been on vinyl. They had a crazy setup. It was astonishing. Wish I remembered what it was. Would love to work for ML now!

Hello Shane! VERY happy to see you edit and get this presentation up so quickly. I was the fellow with the white beard hangin' with Allan and Andrew for quite a while (and probably getting in your way LOL). I am sorry my buddy would not take the microphone for an interview about the Foundation F2's. Guess he is a bit shy. Good news, that he is buying a pair once I help him get his room setup at home. He will be coming to my place this Friday to audition my setup. Should be a good time. He will hear: (from Safe and Sound), the Classic 9's paired with the Parasound Halo P6 pre A21 amp and a Dynamo 1600x. Can't leave out the horns, so there are the Klipsch Forte' 4's and tube gear as well. It's a good sized space at 17x24' dedicated / uncluttered for 2.1 listening. I have known Dave and his dad at the audio shop for a number of years, and so fortunate to live only 8 miles down the road from such a wonderful place with great audio products. It really is like going to an audio SHOW inside! Thanks again for being there, and you now have a new subscriber 🙂 PS. if in the future, you want to use any footage with myself in the camera's view for your use from that day, feel free to do so!

I would LOVE to audition these in person. I bet they sound phenomenal! Love Martin Logan ESL’s, and personally believe them to be the finest sounding speakers available. It just boggles the mind that they went up in price $40,000! At launch 8 years ago, they were $80,000, now they’re $120,000! Why the insane price increase? Still gotta love the way they look (and sound). Simply stunning!

I came very close to the sound of the M-L Neolith with a pair of the Martin-Logan Quests circa 1993. I biamped them with a Krell KSA150 on the woofers and a pair of McIntosh MC275 Gordon Gow Commemorative tube amps wired as monoblocks for the panels. The panel, while not quite as large as the Neolith, is still BIG at 48” x 16”. Along with a husky 12” woofer in a sealed box crossed over at 125Hz these babies could really scale with all the attributes you’d expect from an electrostatic. On the used market, the Quests (and the essentially similar Quest Z and ReQuest) are commonly available for $2000/pr or less. When biamped, the Quests can give you 80-90% of the sound of the Neolith at 1.7% of the price. Just sayin’..

30 years ago I a pair of CLSs in my apartment, but with upgraded ladders. I really liked the coherence and especially that they were see thru, unlike Maggie 3.5Rs which I owned much later, but their door- like non-see through shape bugged me, but although the CLS panels were large, they were still a head in the vice experience. While $120000 is way beyond my budget, it is down right cheap compared to the MBLs. I have heard neither of these but I have Emerald Physics 3.4s, open baffle, 12" concentric driver with 1" polyester tweeters, outboard XOs and IMHO disappear. EP also made 2.8s which added 2 @15" woofers MSRP ~ $10,000. FOR THE REST OF US, THEY WOULD BE A SCORE
