I just got 2 kittens about 3 months ago that were living in a bush on the side of a highway with no food or water, Now I thank god everyday since I found them because they are the kindest animals I’ve ever met

When we finally talked my husband into getting the kids a cat he was a little stand-offish. Well, he quickly warmed up to her. He bought her a red laser device that works on a timer. His favorite pastime now it to watch her and giggle (yes giggle) when she chases it. He’s always been sweet to her but now he loves her. He’s already shown me her next gift. The floppy fish. My cat always lays on the carpet in the entry way of my house, probably because we have a window on the door, and he likes to lay on top of my moms Mercedes ragtop because it is soft and high up

It's been fascinating to watch when the ferals who use my patio as a dormitory meet a new arrival. Sometimes the new one is welcomed right in, other times I've seen the established bunch sitting in a circle with the unfamiliar cat in the center, and just stare at him for a while. One time this ended with the new guy just walking off quietly, and I never saw him again. They've got rules for who can join the group. They set up those rules themselves, and I have no idea how they work, but they seem to be able to make the decision stick.

Sometimes we have friends in high places.

With the whole “if your cat is scratching the furniture put scratching posts out” I would suggest also putting some catnip on the scratching posts to make them more attractive. As for petting/scratching your cat on their butt, most cats love that. Some, however, have a very low tolerance for having their butt, or even their entire back petted and will bite or scratch after a few seconds. It’s actually painful for them if you do it longer. I have one cat this way. However, he loves being scratched on the head and neck area, and can handle that for much longer before getting overstimulated. so if your cat shows signs of this, I suggest trying that.

I moved to the UK roughly 3 weeks ago, so our cats have had to stay indoors. Our half siamese is very nervous most of the time and doesn't really enjoy being walked on a harness. Our ginger and white on the other hand, loves going out. I started walking her roughly a week ago and every day she wants to go further. I get some very odd looks from people, but I couldn't care less.

About hunting, we had a cat and she would bring "gifts" Which we didn't really appreciate. So I had a heart to heart with her and told her, "we appreciate your gestures but it's not really our custom" She never brought anything else after that.
