@@OpticHamster69 I am butt cheeks at parrying, I can’t parry dookie, especially when the head chomper ganados attack. Same thing with flails, I can get axes all day but god forbid a flail comes because I’ll be eatin every hit

Honestly, if Ashley isnt in armor, you shouldnt even consider an S run, unless you are very good at the game already.

I can't believe I didn't think to shoot through the window at the catapult section.. and I didn't even realize there was a way to destroy the statue head.

I like how the church skip bypasses having ashley join you so you and still get the cutscene at the bridge.

for the salazar part, getting two gold eggs might not be very speedrun-viable, but one gold egg is good enough to put salazar in a very consistant position for the funny perma-stun stabbing strat

I love those skips, they make sense in-game (maybe not the egg), but, like, throwing a grenade to break the wall, shooting the lock etc). Let's hope Capcom keep them - I think they intended it to be this way honestly

You can get an egg pretty easily in chapter 5 without waisting too much time, I only got that one and then used a magnum for the boss fight

The egg skip actually makes sense though because he's allergic to eggs afaik, and I think it says it in one of the lore files as well as a hint (plus that merchant request where you throw an egg on his painting, prob another hint too) lol

The grenade at the wall is intended, there is no other explanation why they would bother to make grenades to interact with the wall, same with throwing eggs at Salazar. But shooting/throwing grenades at the locks or skip turrets can be considered as "sequence break" so I doubt they will patch them, unlike scope glitch which can actually break the game if you abuse it.

This is nuts! I tried the skip at the church and it works for wonders. Now I don’t have to deal with the Ashley headache leaving the church. I can get to the cabin with a smile on my face! Thank you so much… bless your kind soul hahaha 🎉

Another skip that I’m sure most people probably already know in chapter 11 at the TNT wall you can shoot it with the infinite rocket launcher to skip the entire fight scene and you can use the rocket launcher to kill both giants in the lava room makes it so much easier

On that sun moon skip, if you go over the next portcullis instead of running left to the stairs to start the gigante cutscene and aim with a grenade on the left side until the arch of the nade goes like in between the open portcullis squares it will blow up the counterweight and you won't have to run up top!

​@@henryhaynes2147 They definitely did with the castle ramparts gates, the AA guns, Salazar egg skip, cannon, etc. Those would be common playtest exploits they kept to help with speedrunning. Those aren't "hacks". The only thing they don't plan is exploits that clip you through walls and doors.

For anyone who wants to skip the wrecking ball section but doesnt have any grenades you can just shoot the wall with any gun and eventually it should be able to broken with 1-2 swings.

With Ashley’s section I accidentally solved the clock just testing a few numbers I liked. I was one click off from 11:05 or 115 because I love CoD Zombies and before I could click it over again the puzzle unlocked. It wasn’t until I came back through the area as Leon and explored more that I saw an entire section where I was suppose to go find the note with it written on there. I felt like I cheated not only the game but myself. lol

lucky but also unlucky because you will miss a handful of treasures and an auto rifle lol

It might be dipping into full speedrun territory but you can also savescum trying out different token combos trying to get the striker charm at the first shooting range, makes you run 8% faster which over the course of the game saves a lot of time, letting you take a little more time setting stuff up if you need to etc.

The drops from the token machine are seeded at the start of a run apprenty so you'd need to repeat from the start every time

@@i3loody-rainbow736 no, but reloading a save from the main menu makes the timer go back to the last save, while reloading from a pause apparently doesn’t. This means you can save before you try out the different combos

Bugging your way through both sentry guns is absolutely 🔥

You can also use a rocket to skip the El Gigante that throws rocks at you during the sun and moon lever puzzle instead of using the cannon and you can also use a rocket instead of the dynamite to clear the path in the mines to the dual El Gigante fight

Dang, these are great skips! I just fought everyone on my way there and didnt think of these! Well maybe except for the cannon part, I saw it on the way up and shot it... Made my life a helluva lot easier!

I still find it funny yet useful that breaking the lock through the barn window is a skip, on my first playthrough I just did it because I wanted to be thorough and didn’t know the path up through the windmill would take me through to the barn 😂

You can easily clip through a gate to avoid the wrecking ball section entirely. Saves like 20 minutes. I didn’t know about the turret skip where the bug punches you through, will have to try it.

There's a neat chapter 14 skip I used on the big bolted door leading to the lift that goes to the Amber warehouse that skips that entire area which could be cool to cover. Also, Mendez skip is super useful. Used them in my first S+ pro run yesterday!

​@@jusltv can't. been patched out. originally the mine launcher was SUPER OP and on a second playthrough you would start with it. when entering the house you fight him, before triggering the cutscene, if you place 6 mines on the beams up top and 4 on the floor around where he would start (might be the other way around i can't remember), as soon as the cutscene ends, he would immediately get hit by the bombs so you can knife him which collectively does enough damage to start the second phase and then the same thing happens. this trick was useful for taking out basically anyone they have since nerfed it so that 1) you can only use it during combat. if you try to prep before a fight starts, they automatically blow up as soon as there are enemies 2) you can only have 3 mines placed at any given time. adding a 4th automatically blows them all up (though that can at lease still be used strategically)​

I must say, that is impressive!

Tried the Warf Area skip a few times before I said screw it. Died over and over. Every time he grabs at me and I run, the turret hits me too. Meat bag does not block the shots as well as one would think from these reused clips.

You can also fully upgrade ur bolt gun and plant about 5 mines on the cabinet near by before triggering the cut scene for the Bella sisters part. U can also plant 5 mines near the barrels and another 6 at the beam above before the cut scene for the Bitores Mendez boss fight. It’s costly since u have to upgrade ur bolt gun and craft a bunch of mines but for me it’s worth it since money and supplies u can get back but u can’t get back spend time.

I didn't know the gatling guns on chapter 13 and 15 could be skipped like that. All I have left to S+ Profesional is the island

I think there is a skip for the Garrador where you use the rifle glitch to interact with the backside of the locked door.

Do all of these skips work for every version of the game (particularly the clip skips) I am playing on ps5 and would like to know.

Could've saved one of those nades and threw it thru the gate for the sun/moon skip, would've been a bit faster. Still good tips nonetheless.

The golden chicken egg had me SHOOKETH!!

Could use some explenation here: For example: 0:51 is useful because you don't have to worry for Ashley, you can just leave her there and to Bing chilling until the cabin, even opening the door to doing the rabid dog without worry about it attacking her. 11:53 And you can use an extremely similar glitch form that on the section after the merchant before the wrecking ball to skip that whole section including the part with the regenerator. You zoom in aim down, walk backwards and then with high mouse DPI quickly turn around and press interact. This works becuase Leon's legs are past the door and so when you turn quickly and hit interact, Leon is made to interact with the prompt to unlock the door on the other side. There's also a skip similar to those with the scoped weapon going to the second fridge of the regenerators, after Mike's death, allowing you to pass the gates you gotta crank open by just phasing through them. For this you zoom in, walk backwards into the door and de-scope while not phasing the door, this works becuase Leon's legs are through the door and bump into the door from the other side dragging the rest of the body.

Make sure you kill the rocket guy above you when you destroy the aa turret, he can shoot rockets in the next area where you pull the levers

I missed that one and failed miserably several times XD

I did the same thing in that wrecking ball part I ran through the wall and Ashley came after me. I returned and shot four spider parasites and collected a ton of stuff. The rest of the enemies disappeared. (hardcore)

Any tips on how to beat the cabin on professional new game save (for handcannon?) im not even going for a good time this part is iust killing me

I only knew about the lock, salazars egg allergy (canon), and the statue head explosion because I saw it by chance.

safer but longer way to get through the wharf is to take out the search lights, then snipe the enemies up top and stealth kill the ones on ground (or lure them into the turrets if you want to save knife durability/don't have the primal ugrade). then as long a you dont accidentally walk into the laser, or shoot for no reason you won't trigger the alarm

Those laser skips surprised me. Always thought they were “too easy to dodge” if exploits were found. I would bet there might be a safer strat in the future.

Tried to do the wharf area skip but every time the boar head would run to the edge, drop down, and run around after shooting his arm contraption instead of running into the turret's fire.

The fact that he did this without armored Ashley is impressive.

How did you pass the cabin with no ammo or next to no resources?

but not on Professional New Game… maybe 1-2 people managed to do it somehow on Professional NG but that was pure luck. I‘d rather suggest people to do this village fight legit than spending hours trying to hit the bell with the pistol.

How do you do the glitch threw the wall thing at the church?

Did they patch up 11:36 skip ?? The pig just either jump off the other side (with the guy shooting the fire cross bow) or wouldn’t walk toward Leon (who’s exactly on where you stand on the video right before he kicks Leon) as I was trying to do the skip 😭

13:35 Is the hit from the insect gives you i-frame?

I'm convinced even the jetski section at the end is harder in Pro. I'm hitting more objects than usual and even the freaking walls. S+ ain't gonna happen but I'll watch someone else clear it on here. Might have to unlock the handcannon with Mercenaries or buy it if they ever sell it for a couple dollars.

What pistol are you using?

@@SaberisloveSaberislife Only after chapter 7. Otherwise before that you have to be accurate af, headshotting everything over and over and preserving ammo you find in barrels/crates.

sadly all boss skips except for salazar have been patched out since they nerfed the mine launcher, and removed the scope glitch

There are 2 times one for assisted/standard (11:04) and another for hardcore/professional (07:00)

how did you not mention the village skip which is the fist and most iconic one?

Does that sniper trick on the latter work the same way as the flick trick with the sniper to skip through certain walls and doors? Because I tried that trick on console and even on the highest sensistivity, he doesn’t turn fast enough to pull it off. Maybe it works differently on PC.

This one got patched with the latest update but you can still do it if you don’t update your game or if you reinstall it without the update. Now to your question… just stay where I am in the video and walk backwards inside the wall while aiming with your scoped rilfe at the ground, then release your aim and make a quick turn + press climb button at the same time (do NOT flick, press the quick turn button on console). I recorded this on PlayStation 5 and it’s pretty easy to do once you figure it out.

@@wolker4 Ohhh... I never realized there was a quick turn button. I never use those in games, so I never bother to learn them. But that's good to know.

I know another skip for the 2 giant's get 2 flash grenades throw one while the giant is near the hole that opens and make him fall in the lava and do the same thing for the other one

Yeah, on assisted/standard it is 11:04 and on Hardcore/Professional it is 7:00.

6:25 the clock puzzle in Ashley's section was set to 7 o'clock; when I played (XB) the time I had to use was 1104 Is that time setting unique to each save file?

Thanks! Just found out I can cheese the armored El Gigante with the infinite launcher; blasted him as soon as he pooped out for his intro cutscene 😆 And yes, I'm not fixing pooped

Hey what's the current Speedrun record for this game? I don't intend to Speedrun it, but for people wanting to finish this on professional... I think speedrunning tips would work for that pretty well. People forget why Speedruns are so popular, it's meant to kinda cheese the game

Most current one is around two hours if I remember correctly.

You don't even need 3 nades at 4:40 just run past them and climb up

If I only I knew this before I got the platinum… FML

For some reason when I try the wharf skip, the pig head guy ignores me and goes left behind the turret instead of rushing me.

If you skip the cutscene the NPC acts like you're not there. Let the cutscene play, run up the stairs, dodge bullets, he'll walk into the turret. Took me a little while of testing to figure it out

Don't attempt speedruns in your first playthrough, play it normal

How many hours you run in one sit come with skip?

The whole waste disposal/ wrecking ball chapter can be skipped even on playstation. You can glitch through the gate to the lift to the summit. I'm not a speedrunner but I managed to pull it off. There's videos how to do it here on KZread.

How does the church skip work?

Doesn't a heavy grenade blow up the tnt rock? I know a rocket launcher does but if a grenade works too that's a big skip.

No, only rocket launcher.

You actually don't need to shoot the lock from the outside window. For doors with those locks, if you press up against the door and aim your gun where the lock is, you can shoot it through the door. You don't have to take the time to aim through the window, it's nice.

Guys. Beat all Mercenary Levels on rank S (easy with Krauser or Hulk) and you also get the Handcannon. unfortunately this doesnt count for the "get all weapons". for this you specially have to beat professional without the three bonus weapons

Take out your rifle with a scope on it -> aim at the ground and walk backwards inside the wall -> release your aim and quickly quick turn + spam interaction button (Quick Turn + spam X)

Nah, I didn’t miss it. It just wasn’t worth spending 160k for a rocket launcher to do this skip. Now there is more skips and strats for the boss fights so you can waste a rocket launcher for the TNT part.

Lol the cannon and the statue skips I did naturally and thought it was the normal thing to do 😂 But wow the Ashley skip, gallery room, grenade and the wharf Huge time savers Apparently grenades are even more valuable than I thought 😅

Run 🏃‍♂️

You could also add Garrador skip. Same idea as the wrecking ball gate skip. Saves a fair bit of time, and easy to do.
