12-minute guide; Windows 10 fresh install from USB download to new SSD/PC.
Ғылым және технология
This guide is intended to help you perform a fresh installation of Windows 10 on your computer. This can be helpful if you have a new SSD and need to install Windows or if your computer came with a lot of bloatware and you want a fresh start. The whole process will usually take under a half-hour to the Windows desktop on a modern i5 with SSD. Hope this guide helps. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to get you an answer.

"Because I've already read the terms and conditions" that is just too good, just like how I always read instructions for ikea products

For win10 after I did a clean isntall, it will detect the chipset, SSD,HDD,GPU etc and get all the drivers?!?! Which is better, let win10 get all the drivers or I manually download each one and install them?

Why does it stop installing windows when it reaches around 80%?
My laptop sat under my bed for 4 years until I saw this video.... Blessing! Like New...
Always good to find a help video without a bunch of nonsense. Thanks for getting to the point and doing what the title says you're doing.

Thanks! I was getting non-stop errors for the disk format type, banging my head on the wall. Delete all partitions and all is good. Great video!!
January 2020-- Worked perfectly. switched to an ssd hard drive on my pc. thank you for this well explained video.
Just restored a laptop which lay for 3 years, new hard drive fitted and thanks to your step by step clear instructions its now working perfectly . Many thanks Mr Thrasher
I can not thank you enough!! I watched another video & he verbally went through the process so fast I simply could not follow. This is my first time doing this so your very clear step-by-step directions & visual aid are so appreciated. Absolutely an excellent & extremely helpful video. Thank you.
Wow, what a great video. I upgraded to 16 gigs of RAM and used this video to switch from 32 bit to 64 bit windows all onto a new SSD ditched the HDD. IT ALL WORKED GREAT!! This video saved me from buying a new computer and a lot of money. Thank you for your help!
This was so helpful! I wanted to upgrade my hdd to an ssd and this was super easy to follow. I have literally never done anything like this before and you made it idiot proof. Love it.

Hello! Just have a quick question. Upgrading my build. Going from Intel I7 7700k -> Ryzen 7 5800x. I currently use a SATA SSD and a HDD (system imaged from my SSD just in case). I am installing a brand new, never used M.2 SSD for the upgrade, and I plan on installing a fresh OS on it. My question is this: Can I (after boot up and all drivers are updated, etc and everything is solid) simply plug in my old SSD & HDD WITHOUT deleting the said info on those drives??? (Keep in mind that I would shutdown the computer, plug those in, load up bios, make sure boot priority is still going to my M.2, then load to desktop). If I keep my boot priority on the M.2, my old SSD OS shouldn’t interfere with it correct? Thank you!

@@hunterrivera4984 correct you can boot from both drives example (you have windows on one drive and Linux or mac on the other drive you would need to go into the BIOS and change the os drive to the other one.
I've been using this video for 3 years now... I cannot say "Thank you" enough! Simple and complete. :)

I’ll preface by saying I’m not entirely computer savvy, so I was heavily leaning on learning from a YT guide. This was perfect, simple to follow and now I feel I can do it on my own in the future. Thank you!
Finally, a video that made SENSE for what I'm looking to do. THANK YOU!
Great tutorial! I was not sure whether to upgrade or custom install, and whether I need to create a new partition. You sure cleared that out. Thanks a lot!
12th nov 2019 After having to replace a failed hard drive in my laptop i thought it was going to be a nightmare sorting it but with your 12 minute tutorial it was a breeze...only problem i had was i had to delete all the partitions to allow the install. So..thanks very much. Saved me getting loads of grief from the wife.
I want to thank you so much for your video. My computer was stuck with a bad Windows 7 install that someone else installed for about five weeks I came across your video and installed it and it is working fine!
After hours of trying to boot with a SSD this video helped me thanks so much!!👍

Thankyou man, this was a last resort as no other tutorial would work.
Andrew, you are amazing!!! I followed your easy to follow steps and got it done. Thank you so very much.
Thank you! You just saved me from ditching an aging laptop due to formating issue during the windows re-installation process. Deleting all partitions first solved the problem.
Thanks for this! I have been trying to get Windows 10 installed on a fresh hard drive for the past few days and this did the trick! This still works as of February 2020.

Oh, man! Thanks for this video. I had to dig around a lot to find a video that was quick and to the point. It was a nightmare getting my computer ready, I had issues with BIOS, the video card, CMOS, but once all of that was sorted out I was able to follow along with your video painlessly. Lol!
Worked perfectly. Thank you

Thank You So Much for telling me about deleting the partition. OMFG I spent an hour trying to figure out why my 468gb SSD wouldn't install win 10 until I heard you say about deleting all the partitions. Wow I am so relieved right now. You have provided the best KZread help video on KZread itself.

Thanks for the great video, used your tip about deleting all the partitions, and loaded windows right away(after many attempts of trying to format), finally!! Thought my hard drive was corrupted, so I ended up buying a 500gb ssd, I'll install it when I get it and keep my old one for storage.
Thanks man! Youre a legend. Really helped me.
Thank you so much for this video. I was hesitant to do a fresh Windows 10 install on my new Samsung SSD hard drive until I saw your video. Now my 11 year old HP pavilion has new life. 2 minute boot up now only takes 10 seconds... 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Thank you for mentioning the boot selection from the USB. So many videos are missing this step despite some computers auto selecting to boot from the usb drive.
Thank you. Great instructions. Works like a charm. Just a note, in Acer Aspire laptop in Bios Boot you need to move the USB drive where the ISO is to the first place by using F6 or F5 before saving and exiting. Other than that this instruction is perfect.
THANK YOU! That was as clear, as helpful as it can get.
Amazing video! I kept getting errors until that deleting the partitions and it installed thank you!
Good one...I really was having hard time getting through the overall installation after upgrading to ssd...this video was very helpful..very well and clear explaination. Thanks so much

Bro I have recently bought a new SSD and going to do a fresh Windows install on it... I wanted to ask few questions... 1. Whether I will have to create New Volume from disk management after installing SSD in my laptop? 2. Will I have to change some settings other than Boot priority in the BIOS menu before or after installing Windows 10 on SSD? 3. Whether creating partitions of SSD like system reserved etc. necessary during Windows installation? (Even after watching video I'm still confused regarding this....😅)
THANKS After 100s of videos that I saw this one worked.
Love this video, clean explanation and detailed steps, 10/10
I used this video a few times when I forget how to do it. So straight forward and helpful.

Your tone of voice is so nice for tutorials
I love you man. This helped me solved my missing windows defender that only shows "Security at a glance". Now I can rest at ease.
I just want to put this out there. While making a windows 10 media installation tool, while using a 8GB or higher USB ( I used 2.0 both I believe are fine) I ran into the problem, it stated there needs to be 8gb or more of storage on the C: drive, even though I was attempting to JUST put the media creation tool onto the USB. You need to have 8gb or more on the C: drive regardless of where you set up the creation tool. After clearing space, I was allowed to follow the steps in this video just fine. This is just an FYI for anyone who runs into the problem I did.
This should be at the top .. nice tutorial man 👍🏻
Thanks, I didn't know what the partitions did and thought I might brick my computer by deleting them. 100% not the case, totally safe to delete all of them for complete clean install.
my hdd on my computer crashed so I switched over to a ssd and im going to give this a try once I get out of class, great video, thank you for the information !!

Thank you. I got the GANDCRAB virus downloading Vuescan software from the Pirates Bay and despite losing some recent files that I hadn't archived/backed up I soon decided to cut my loses and start afresh when the computer started misbehaving. I actually reformatted my SSD on a 2nd machine and then followed your video using a USB key installation. I had no fewer than 5 partitions but by deleting them one at a time got them down to one. After that it's just a matter of following the onscreen instructions and accepting it will take some time to upgrade the USB W10 installation. But thanks for the help . . .
Kudos bro, very impressed and worked like a charm!

Than you! This really helped with my corrupted DIY desktop. Would you recommend this for an almost brand new Dell laptop? Or do i need to download all, if not most of the Dell drivers?
what if my pc has win 10 and i coonect second ssd with win 7 on it, would i see everything i had from desktop on win 7 sdd on win 10 desktop?
Very Concise, Very Understandable!!!
Would Windows 7 be fine? I have it from my old setup in 2014.
Great video, thank you! If I have Win10 activated and need to switch to win7 or Linux for a while on that same PC, if I reinstall Win10 after that, with it still activate after having had other OSes?

Hi Andy, A great video and I was able to get all the way through to the choice of what type of install. I chose the option you recommended and received the following message: "The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using Windows installation media. If a copy of Windows is already installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After Windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run Windows Setup." Any advice as to what to do next would be much appreciated. I clearly did something wrong somewhere...
Hi! Im sorta new to this. I got a SSD 250 gb and I was hoping to move the OS from the 1TB HDD to the SSD without transferring every single file on it. Is it possible to do this without losing stuff on the HDD? Im just a bit hesitant that ill lose some important files.
Still good advise in 2021 Thank you.Worked on a Surface Pro that had windows 8.1 pro.
Thank you very much❤️ It worked perfectly fine
Thanks for the help found out I had to hit fn and f2 to get to the bios now I'm up and running
