Regular old household Waxed Paper that you probably have in your kitchen works really well for a fire starter! Wet or Dry!! It also folds up pretty compact and a little goes a long way!! Thanks for the vid!!

I use wax paper to wrap pieces of pine pitch 'drips' I pull off conifers in parks and parking lots. It allows me to keep the pieces contained and get everything sticky. You just shred up some of the attached wax paper and it goes up quick and stays lit for awhile even in damp weather. Adding little bits of dry shredded cedar bark is a little bonus. Just about as free/cheap as you can get.

You don't have to waste the Chapstick, put into cotton like you would petroleum jelly for a descent fire starter.

Another good fire lighter is dried orange peel. Potassium Permanganate when wet will stain your fingers purple and takes forever to get off. If you make a solution of sugar and potassium permanganate, soak string with the solution and let dry you now have a lightable fuse.

I've heard of using tuna as a candle, but hadn't thought of it this way. The best thing about that is that you can cook the food without bothering with starting a fire. It uses its own easy and temporary fire. 👍

Orange oil is way more effective for super glue & other adhesives. Plus it smells good.

You know there's a layer of plastic inside most cans, so that tuna probably had melted plastic on it.

I wouldn't try that Chapstick trick. I got patted down once and the first thing that cop did was take the cap off my Chapstick and start cranking it out. I told him if he broke it he was going to buy me a new one so he stopped. If you could fold the fifty in half longways, roll it up and put around the center shaft and replace as much of the lip balm as possible so that it still worked that might fool someone.

I knew exactly what was going to happen when you added more than what was needed to ignite the sugar and potassium permanganate! Haha 😹😹😹!!! Hahaha? Yes 😅! You're too funny Bud! Haha 🤣😹🤣🤣🤣😂 Out 💋

Im not sure if you have shown it before but you can also make a fish trap with a 2 liter bottle. Cut the top off where it reaches its full size of the bottle then cut the neck off just a little (to make a slightly larger opening for bigger fish) then just flip it so the neck is inside the bottle, resecure the 2 together (melt em together, tie, ect whatever you can do) then drop some bait it, submerg, and wait
