    The "Smooth Criminal" Mandela effect is just a confusion. Actually the lyrics is "you've been struck by", but only on the second refrain. In the first refrain is "you've been hit by"

    honestly i dont think the Smooth Criminal one is really a mandela effect, rather it's just confusion. In the music video version the "you've been struck by" isn't there, but in the single version/radio edit he DOES say it in the second verse (the second verse is shortened as well.) it's also there in the lyrics on google.

    Hanson does refer to his hand as his "strong hand" but is not the particular window scene everyone is referring to. It is whenever Cindy arrives at Hell House in the film. He is helping her carry her bags and he says he has to use his "Strong Hand" and drops all of her belongings on the floor. That's where people get it confused.

    I think it's also because just saying "take my hand" wouldn't really make sense since it's so vague. You could be referring to a bunch of different movies with that. By saying "take my strong hand" it's a more direct reference.

  • @LilyoftheLake14

    @LilyoftheLake14

    Жыл бұрын

    @@benkirkpatrick6343 Exactly! It's the kind of concept with The Empire Strikes Back and how everyone quotes/remembers the famous line of, "Luke, I am your father." Even though the line is "No, I am your father." If you said the line as is, it's way more vague and could fit other movies. By adding "Luke," at the beginning, you're slightly changing the line to give it context outside of the movie. Similarly, the line of, "take my hand," is suuuuppper vague and in tons of movies, so slightly changing it to, "take my strong hand," especially when said in the higher pitched voice, of that character gives the line context outside of the movie. Another example is casablanca with, "Play it again, Sammy." When the name of the pianist, "Sammy," isn't said with that line but just saying, "play it again," is too vague of a reference. I don't think any movie line changed slightly by adding a character name or word which clarifies the quote, even though it's not the actual word for word line, I seriously dont think those are examples of mandela effexts. They're people adding context to a movie quote because it's outside of the movie and for the reference to make sense, sometimes you have to add or change a word. Definitely not a mandela effect; I don't know why this concept is so difficult for some to understand lol. Like, which is it? Do people just add/change a word of a famous movie line to give it context when making a reference to it outside if the film? Or is that proof if multiple time lines exist and the earth phases through them and in these other time lines, the quotes were actually performed in the film the same way people quote them outside of the film? Hmmmmmm.... 🤔 Which is more plausible? 😆 lol.

    The DBZ one makes sense in 2001 because TV guides didn't always line up with what was being shown at the moment. I remember numerous times wanting to watch a specific show only to be disappointed when a different show would be aired.

  • @pablozanoto5801

    @pablozanoto5801

    I think DBZ may have been aired as a gap sealer in the station's programming. It happened with an anime that just passed under these circumstances to replace a show that can't air at the moment. The anime was GS Ghost Sweeper Mikami. It is also said that the dubbing was lost by just passing through these super specific moments, which few people saw and that no one was able to record. There are no records of the anime's passage on the station either, as it aired in the last cases.

    let me clarify something here, Im Brazilian, and we used to have this daily show called TV GLOBINHO(it was only cartoons and animes), Globo is the biggest TV station in Brazil till this day(that's why everybody have this fake or not memory), every morning TV Globinho was aired normally at 9:30am, but if I remember correctly, the 9/11 was about 8:40am here in brasil and happened BEFORE the tv globinho/DBZ was supposed to be aired (I asked my older brother and he said DBZ was always the last anime at almost 11am) that's why that tv show wasn't aired that day, the whole schedule was about 9/11 news already, like an hour before, so it wasn't interrupted cause the tv globinho wasn't even aired that specific day (sorry if it sounds confusing TT)

We discussed Tom Courtenay's excellent acting, how nice it was that the violence was only show as brief flashbacks, etc. When it FINALLY made a second series years later in 2017, I was thrilled. ......In 2022, I learned that the show did not exist until 2015! Two years AFTER my pen pal died! That's when series one was filmed and broadcast. The first episode is chock full of time references stating that it's 2015.

    A lot of people growing up (including myself) didn't read a lot of the OT, especially the books of the prophets, which even as an adult, are difficult reads. Also a lot of more modern English translations do not use the word dragon in a lot of places where the KJV does (ancient Hebrew is difficult to translate and our knowledge of the language has increased greatly, along with more manuscripts being founded since the KJV was translated). Could be an explanation

  • @aeong_bread

    EXACTLY... so many people don't understand how difficult it is to translate ancient texts to make sense in modern language, there are simply too many terms that don't have a modern equivalent which leads us to MANY different interpretations of the texts. liberties must be taken by translators to make it as accurate as possible without straying too far from the original meaning, but it will happen regardless and there's no way around it. there's always been tons of debate about the bible and whether certain parts are inaccurate or simply misleading due to the terminology used. there will continue to be confusion over the scripture, it's really interesting but i wish we could really know what they had tried to convey in the original writings, we can only speculate i guess :/ i'm hopeful that they'll be able to crack the code though lol, i'm not christian but i still am very interested in the teachings

One day I heard it as "you've been hit by, you've been struck by" somewhere on the internet and I got a very odd feeling from it. Like laying your phone face down then turning back to see it face up. It's still cool to see examples of people getting things confused like this. But most of them seem like honest mistakes that make sense. I think the Mandela effect happens the most to people that have a harder time accepting that they don't have a perfect memory (99.9% of people don't). So in the case of the Michael Jackson example, I think this miss-remembering by all involved could be due to an interesting mental behavior where, much like a human's propensity to seek out patterns, creative people specifically could have this preference of thinking that repeating the same line in a chorus of a song doesn't sound right and it makes more sense to change the word up for power and emphasis. I know any time I try to write sentences describing something in an essay or a blog entry, I want to find more than one way to describe what I'm talking about to make it more expressive and meaningful for the reader. I wouldn't want to say the same thing the same way over and over again. So I think this could be a case where the first person to cover the song and other persons just trying to karaoke sing the song think that Michael had two different words in that chorus when he didn't, which might seem odd given his perfectionism.

    the michael jackson one was just a simple mix up, he says hit by twice the first time then struck by the second time it comes up in the song. the converse logo was only for a specific type of shoe that looks very similar to the other types so it was another mix up. i have to say though, i vividly remember the dogs having green visors in a painting i saw but it could've been someone else's rendition. also it's always been "hello my baby, hello my honey" maybe i've seen too much looney tunes but it's ingrained in my mind from hearing it so much

    I'm wearing Converses right now, I'm surprised I got the logo side right. As a MJ fan, I was shocked at the lyric change at first, but I remembered being confused as a kid and singing along the wrign lyrics to the first bridge back in the day, until he changed it up. Also watched to a lot of MJ concert footage, so I guess that's where my Mandala Effect comes from. Absolutely lovednyou included the "The Da Vinci Code" scene, I immediately thought of the movie when you explained the missing chalice.

    I remember the scary movie mandela effect, but back then I couldn't understand the movie in english so I read the line in the subtitles. I thought that it was funny from several angles, his strong hand was the mutilated one and the other guy preferred to fall to take that hand. Those were great movies.

There's a place to learn about that, it's called a church. That said I wouldn't be opposed to a class that gave an objective understanding of all major religions in the world. I had a world history class in college that touched on that some.

And Religion had crafting/and reading some of the more tame bible storys or local stuff. Year 5 and up was Religion or Philosophie. And in Religion the themes were wide from the live of Jesus to the basics of world Religions to more well known cults to philosophy. In higher years we joked about how the people doing philosophy talked way more about God ("God is dead" etc.) than we who had Religion because in these years we had Hinduism/Buddhism/and Morality.

    Curious if there's one involving Trix cereal as it used to be fruit shaped pieces then changed to generic ball shapes and apparently it was the ball shape before the fruit as well as older family members recalled them being ball shaped when they made the switch from fruit to ball. Not sure if there's anything in there but yeh

    I explicitly remember that yes, they did used to be fruit shaped. Crazy enough, there was a Trix commercial that aired when I was a kid actually *explaining* the change being the result of one of the rabbit's schemes. So it's not a Mandela Effect - they actually did just change the shape of the fruits to balls sometime in the early 2000s. I think they actually changed it back recently though? I've seen some Trix cereal with the original shapes on it as of a few months ago.
