Good morning from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Yesterday during my morning walk, I saw my first ‘LIFER’, a Yellow-streaked Greenbul. The problem is that this bird is found in eastern and southeastern Africa. I suspect that this bird may have been brought in and released illegally through smuggling, or released from a pet cage by owner, or blew in by seasonal trade wind. Please tell me what you think 🤔….much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

What do you mean by your first lifer . Lifer is a bird you have never seen before so was this the first bird you have seen? Maybe you mean your first rarity ❤. ;)

One of the fun things when birding is, trying to hear where the bird sound is coming before seeing them. Congratulations for finding beautiful birds.

First time seeing this kind of bird. It is NOT listed on the Hong Kong bird book NOR is it in their app. I have a strong feeling the app has not been updating for years, but I witnessed this bird with my own eyes for the first time. It’s a rare occurrence in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, and had never been sighted by anyone.

There are Kirtland's Warblers in Ontario, but apparently only two known breeding sites. Suitable nesting habitat sites have been created in Simcoe County in recent years.

We have several species of Egrets nearby where I live in semi-rural area of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR around the shoreline promenade - Chinese Egret, Cattle Egret, Lesser Egret, as well as Greater Egret.
