12 Disturbing Allegations in ‘Quiet On Set’: The Dark Side of Kids TV

Ойын-сауық

A new docuseries explores allegations of abuse and toxic behavior behind the scenes on popular shows that aired on Nickelodeon in the 1990s and early 2000s, including “Drake & Josh,” “iCarly,” and “The Amanda Show.” Former child star Drake Bell spoke publicly for the first time about his experience of abuse. The series also dives deep into accusations against show creator and executive producer Dan Schneider, who is no stranger to receiving shocking allegations against him. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks down 12 disturbing allegations revealed in the Investigation Discovery series “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”

Thankfully, early on, I was jaded by the experience of being on a set for 8 hours into the evening. I knew it wasn't right to be out past dark on a movie set, when I should be home watching TV and playing video games. Just being a kid. Not an adult. I thought differently as a child. parents of abused kids are often also victims of manipulation. stop rushing to blame people if you weren’t there and don’t know the circumstances of what went on. For all you know, they could be victims of Schneider’s abusive tactics too. (This coming from someone e who was victimized at a sleepover and has seen their own parents fall victim to the same false idea that I did about my attacker and their family.)

I was SAed in 2019 when I was 17. He was a coworker who was years older than me. He groomed me for about a year and I thought he was my friend. Seeing my assaulter be praised and loved by my coworkers at my old job really did hurt. It really is secondary trauma. My parents still don't know the full extent of what happened because I'm still scared to tell them. He's a really big guy compared to me, especially now because I've lost a ton of weight since that night and if word goes around that I want to press charges, he would take me out definitely. I don't plan on talking about it until either I or he moves out of state. I still have issues now because of him.

It seems that Dan Schneider knew throughout his career exactly how to get away with controlling people. After his connection with Amanda Bynes ended, he seemed to become more wary of people catching on, especially after Handy and Peck were arrested. But then he felt he could get away with it and continued his creepy behavior when making Zoey 101, iCarly, and Victorious. Many people will never be able to watch these shows the same way ever again

The Drake thing was very different. He was texting back and forth with a child he believed to be an 18 year old. She got caught in a lot of lies in court which is why he only got 200 hours of community service. When he found out she was a child he immediately cut off contact but the damage had already been done from the previous messages they sent back and forth when he was under the impression he was speaking with an 18 year old adult female.

All they will think of is how these kids were severely assaulted, and any sane person would not enjoy that, and not want to watch or support Nickelodeon again. I'm happy people are taking this seriously, because childrens lives are important and should be protected.
