The most heartbreaking part in the documentary for me was when Drake recalled the moment he rang his dad to tell him that Brian had been arrested. His dad, whom he hadn't talked to in a few months, responded with: "I knew it, I knew, I knew it! Thank God they got to him before he could get to you." Drake said he didn't correct his dad in that moment because his dad was an overly emotional person, and he didn't want to make his dad break down and cry. 💔

The actors who worked under Harvey Weinstein also made money. Is that supposed to make up for Weinstein's predatory behavior? Side note, Weinstein's actions are nothing new. His actions refer to what is colloquially known as the casting couch, which has existed since the early years of Hollywood. Weinstein being called out simply ignited a chain reaction(aka the Weinstein effect) of similarly abusive figures being called out by their victims, who found courage upon realizing that celebrities and major players like Weinstein weren't untouchable to the law.

I feel SO F#@$ING validated!! I was a teen/young adult with a much younger sibling whom I often babysat, so I started paying attention again to Nickelodeon and Disney, and I felt very uncomfortable by the changes I saw. So much of the content and wardrobes and scenarios..and many lines ...seemed like they were made for people in their early to mid teens.... But the often hokey jokes and obvious "kids show" genre ( the style of acting style, direction and editing) clearly meant it was clearly for elementary school age kids and would probably drive off nost teenagers. I kept asking, "who is this supposed to be for??" It seemed like a lot of the female child actresses were being sexualized too, which upset me. I started working with kids, and you could literally see the way children's entertainment was making a lot of nine year olds feel like they should basically think and act like 14 year olds, with wardrobes, concerns, anxieties and attitudes that were developmentally and neurologically too old for them. But these shows were extremely popular with kids. So much merchandising. I rarely found people who felt the way I did...most teens and adults weren't watching these shows anyway, not even parents. And most kids had little to compare their entertainment to. I often felt like I was the only one seeing it. Later, when I married and had children, my husband and I together decided no Nickelodeon or Disney Channel for them. Both channels had fully lost my confidence, and when I explained why, he agreed. I was so saddened, but not surprised, to know there was clearly so much abuse going on. But it's also deeply validating to my own internal compass to know I wasnt being ridiculous after all.

As a woman who was s*xually h*rassed by her grandfather, I can tell you this: for me, the situation of these young actors is comparable to my experience. You don't choose your family... and you don't choose what happens at your job. There will always be people in our environment who will want to take advantage of us in many ways. The question is whether we have anyone to report it to, or whether we are aware that the situation does not have to be swept under the carpet. Do we understand what rights we have, can we come to terms with how we have been hurt without closing ourselves off and simply "forgetting" about such a toxic situation that destroys us from the inside? Because to me it is obvious that no matter how much we repress our memories - they are still stuck in our minds and, what's worse, they have a huge impact on our future and the way we act. Therefore, dear young people... stop evil before it draws you to its side. Talk about your traumas and absolutely do not allow anyone to prey on your innocence. I believe you.

Someone came out on a blog and said that someone would roleplay as a younger age with Dan and do acts with him and it was hinted at it being Ari because her character, Cat, acts younger than she is. After that happened, Ari's career was boosted--she got more spotlight in both Victorious and Sam & Cat and her music career skyrocketed. Victoria Justice tried speaking out about this but that's what got her black balled in Hollywood... Look at the behind the scene videos of where Dan would film the Victorious crew and the Slap videos--he always had a weird fascination with Ari/Cat and would always call her "little" and stuff. That's also why she hasn't spoken out against him.
