Thanks everyone for the (mostly) super positive comments--I do try to make these lessons straightforward and relatively easy to follow while also providing information and approaches that can easily be expounded upon. It can be a challenge to strike the balance between "simple enough for the less experienced" and "too simple for experienced players" so I aim for a little bit of both. The primary objective is to offer lessons that are useful so I hope that is the case--thanks for watching as always!

Andy, your approach, as I perceive it, is the most sensible I've seen on any of the myriad of lessons I've seen on KZread. It's not memorizing someone else's solo, but rather giving us the tools to improvise in an informed & intelligent manner. I really like that you haven't bedazzled us with your shredding capabilities; the pace you set is relatively easy to follow. As Taj Mahal once sang, I'm built for comfort, not speed... And as you have quite a library of In Deep lessons, I've got enough to keep me busy for as long as I want. Thanks so much for your time & expertise, & Please keep'em coming!

I've spent so much time learning triads over the years, not only with Andy's videos but others too..And to this day, I don't see how they've helped..Nobody can explain what to do with them or why were supposed to be memorizing them..I'm not searching for triads when I'm soloing or chording for that matter..For me, there never in my thought process when playing, especially with my band..Do you guys sit there playing thinking about triads?..its one of those learning myths of the guitar.

So generally speaking it’s best to play the triad with the respective chord you’re playing over right ? Like e7 triad over e chord , when the band shifts to A you move up to an A triad position and make a lick from that position?

That's my very first theory lesson ... If anybody can simply explain to me what is it in theory I am kind of getting into to it ... If I understood it right if I learn it I can easily do solos hitting the "right notes" depending in which 1 , 4 or 5 chords of the 12 bar blues with very little chance of error ?? Is it like playing blues with muscle ... Ok cool thank you I am getting at it for sure . Thank you Andy , beautiful Strat man , these pickup looks real vintage looking ones . Thank you

The triads being learnt above a for 'colouring in' the sound made by normal chords that most guitar players learn early on. For example if you put on a G major backing track you can play all the Gmajor triads over the top of it and it'll make it sound more interesting. There are about 20 Gmajor triads on the neck so you have lots of choice...and lot's of memorising to do!!

All you guys bagging on this guy for "not" showing where his fingers are landing, or not explaining what he's doing need to understand that this is a lesson taken from a guitar magazine!!! Click the link in the description and find the full article with full tab boneheads!!!! It's not his fault the the editors don't understand that it helps to see a guy's hands if he's giving a guitar lesson...but that's what the tab is for...hence "fingers #" ect

Ok, I'm not trying to be a dick,I'm trying to encourage you in a direction that will make you a much better musician brother. When I was learning there was no KZread....most of the time there was no tablature. We had to listen instead of look. I have no idea where you're at as a guitar player, but if you pick out the triads by ear you will be glad you did it. Again,no disrespect intended, just trying to pass along some information. Best of luck to you!!
