Interstate 80 is shut down in both directions from Truckee west to Cisco Grove, CA. High winds, heavy snow and white out conditions have caused hazardous traveling conditions and slide offs. Shots of slide offs, vehicles stuck and driving shots along I-80 showing the driving conditions.

Who could have though that a place known as Donner Pass would ever get adverse weather conditions?

My mom had a Red/Grey XJ just like the one in the video, but it might've been a tad older given then bodystyle. Ours was Red, blacked out grille, gray lower body-panels with 4 doors. It was either an '86-'87 Cherokee. I still remember the JEEP quite fondly. Great hauler, and road trip car with 4x4 capabilities. Lasted nearly almost 180k miles. One summer my sister spilt half of her milkshake in the back, causing a rancid aroma to creep in each time the truck sat out in the sun for long periods of time LOL! The stench👃wasn't pretty 🤢🤢 All fond memories nonetheless. I feel JEEPs back then were built better, and had more longevity with parts/motors etc. I'm not a fan of modern day JEEP design/reliability.
That's why we didn't get any mail on Saturday. Along with super high winds on 395.

"Donner, party of 50!" - Lloyd Christmas "Dumb & Dumber '94 Beautiful snowfall ❄❄❄❄🌨🌨 Quite treacherous roads, with near blinding/White Out conditions. All these FWD vehicles in this video (Camry, Toyota Rav-4) they're miserable in such a snowy scene. Not being able to get anywhere, or you'll spin for days trying to get down the snowy roads. Maybe they should've just stayed home, but you often live and learn. I hope nobody was left stranded too long; or had issues with navigating the weather that hindered their plans too much. Use your brain, plan smart when it comes to treacherous road conditions and snowfall expectations.

And the stupids go and think they can drive as fast as they want...."Ooo I got a new SUV we can go 60!" As they spin out.
Is i80 still closed 4 trucks??
Just my opinion: I think they should outlaw any vehicle that ain’t four-wheel drive. Two-wheel drives are useless for anything serious.
Why do people insist on going out in that kind of weather?? Then drive to fast.😖

Most ended up off the road due to whiteout conditions. Going 5mph doesn't save you when you end up in a snow bank.

People think they can drive in it, and then get frantic/upset when the Winter Weather causes them more harm than good. Happens time and time again. Extreme Stubbornness is a disease to some.

That's gunna be a cold 2 days stuck lol goid thing the CHP was working around the clock to help the helpless
