What genre of music is it suitable for?

Everything will sound good with this. It has a balanced, slightly musical tuning with high quality bass, mid range and treble. The biggest USP is it has one of the best transient effects stage size and imaging under $1500. It might feel slightly dull if you want best transparency, aggressive and sharp transparent treble or else TZ700 is good for nearly everything.

    @@eargasmic3060 I'm wondering between ie900 and tz700

My god, that's the prime target IEM for TZ700. IE900 is warmer, thicker, smoother, more bassy, lacks proper definition resolution even and the sonics aren't as good. It's not exactly a value for money IEM unless you want a bass heavy IEM. And even if you want a bass heavy IEM get the ISN NEO 5. It's not as rich sounding but has better details and clarity. Neo 5 has much better air between instruments and doesn't lack with stage either. I got side tracked because I wasn't able to find any value quotient with IR900. TZ700 on the other hand performs in the level of IE600 when it comes to value proposition. It's a much more resolving and detailed IEM.

Yup, it's fairly expensive but the Japanese tuning is high quality.

This is not an IEM. This is a normal bullet-style earphone, and an insultingly expensive one at that.

I’d agree that this is a bullet style earphone and not an iem . would never imagine they make those over $1k but ok

@TonkyTronicus just try searching "Studio Monitor" and you will find speakers. Monitor here means the equipment used for analysing, nothing else. Evidently you are newbie, welcome anyway. 😊

@@eargasmic3060 A studio monitor is indeed generally full size speakers. An in-ear monitor however refers specifically to an earphone that has a custom or at least semi-custom fit and a cable that hangs over the ear. In-ear monitors were originally invented by Jerry Harvey, a sound engineer who worked with bands like Van Halen. Alex Van Halen himself complained to Jerry Harvey that he needed something with a secure fit and good isolation that he could use to MONITOR the band's instruments and vocals while they were on stage. Thus, the in-ear MONITOR was created to provide that secure fit and sound isolation. No real self-respecting musician is going around using ill-fitting, horribly isolating bullet style earphones with straight hang down cables on stage. Take your condescension elsewhere, kiddo.
