Maddox (it's McArthur) won the Georgia 6A 120 lb. state title in 2022, finishing 50-4 on the season---his 9TH GRADE SEASON!! He is a seriously skilled competitor. His opponent here, Ethan, is a tough competitor as well, winning 2/3rds of his matches in significant competitions. Ethan had Maddox in some trouble until Maddox reversed him. GREAT video work, yet again. You even zoomed in further, and seamlessly, at key moments.

As an update, and response to some replies, Maddox finished 2nd in the state in 2023 (his sophomore year) with a 49-10 record. He wasn't able to repeat as state champ, losing the Georgia 7A championship match in sudden victory to Blue Stiffler whom Maddox had beaten 6-5 earlier in the season. Maddox doesn't graduate from high school until 2025.

Excellent leg riding. Excellent photography. Excellent wrestling strategy. Red (anklet, gray singlet) got all the takedowns, even though the last one was super difficult. He could have let the Green (blue singlet) get the takedown or just stall, and he would have won the match. The only coaching point which is very minor, Red could work a few moves to get some back points (Near Fall), such as a Power Half Nelson or a Crossface to a Leg Turk. This is very minor, Maddox is an exceptional leg rider and wrestler, just like Midwest Wrestle is and exceptional photographer.

"The only coaching point which is very minor, Red could work a few moves to get some back points" - Why take the risk of working for back points when you can stall on top riding, looking like you are working a pinning move? That is how we teach/reward folkstyle in the U.S.

Penn State is the dominant team in college wrestling for the past 10 years. Collegiate wrestling is the same as this match with a few, minor differences.

Welcome to the channel, Игорь. {G} and {R} in the video title refer to the green and red ankle bands which the wrestlers wear, and the wristbands which the referee wears, that are used for scoring purposes. Here are a couple of websites to help you learn the rules. The first is a very quick read, and the second is a little more detailed. staffordhighlanders.com/wrestling-rules-made-simple/ www.indeewrestling.com/folkstyle-wrestling-rules/

With all due respect, but this is the weirdest sport I have ever seen, it just doesn’t make any sense to me. It also looks kinda violent, this two are too young for this.

It descends from one of the most ancient activities practiced in the Ancient Greece and Roman Empire, it has a lot of rule and it is basically a feat of strenght but it also takes knowledge and balance. But it might seem a bit brutal if you approach it for the first time.

Have you ever played sports? They're all violent in different ways. Combat sports teach people how to control themselves, and handle violence/aggression. It's not for you, so be it. Don't just shit all over something you've never experienced yourself. Take a wrestling/boxing/martial arts class for yourself maybe.
