1974, I'm riding my Honda 450 back to Norfolk after a week at my folks place down south, got a rear tire flat, wobbled out and ended up in the median on 95. Years later, I have Deb on the Gold Wing on 95 when I felt the same thing start and pulled right over. Deb didn't even know why I pulled over until I told her we had a flat. When you learn on your own from your past, you feel proud when you put the knowledge to good use. Your willingness to teach others is one of the reasons I started following you. Of course you traveling some of my lanes was another.

if king pins are bad you should be able to yank on the steers and get some play out of em. not jacked up, if there's play while sitting king pins are shot

Passed you as you were going into the construction on 26 before Columbia. Tried to reach you on the CB. There was a semi accident on that 95N to 26W ramp and you were lucky going past that weigh station at Harleyville. I had to roll through it earlier on the way to Holcim. It's hit and miss with that station but they are running it a lot more lately. Be safe out there and maybe we will cross paths at the plant one day.

You’re right on the blowing out a steer. I had it happen and sounded like a bomb going off. Ripped front fender off hood pretty bad. And, try to find a short hood for a 359. Can’t be found. Long story short very expensive and keep king pins good and aligned.

Yep. 😂 just happened to me the other day. Had airbag go bad. Luckily I could drop the bags on my trailer and keep Rollin till I got it fixed

We got new tires on the Jeep 2 weeks ago. I helped research and I think we made a good decision. $1441.46 and eventually get an $80 rebate. 5 all terrain tire.

Series 60 Detroit 14.0 liter is where it’s at!! 12.7 is good also but you get better mpg and more horsepower with the 14.0, my preference

Best steers I’ve ran are Continental HSR2. I run dump trucks and they last the longest. Lots of tread depth.

I used to sell trucks and a day cab with a 350 and a 13 sod should always come in around 16,000 to 17,000 lbs

Our trailers vary in weight by manufacturer and some times just by the build model. Pay close attention to the brand/year of manufacturing/dry weight. You'll figure out the trailers you want to use.

My left tire was premature wearing also turned out to be the hub bearing.

Question. If your pulling one of their trailers and the hub's (for example) go out, does that fall back on you? And if it caused damage to your truck, are they liable for any damages? Just wondering.

When spot market throws you lemons you have to venture into different forms of hauling in order to make lemonade. Try dump trucks 140 -160hr with truck and trailer home everyday. Maybe a lowboy hauling heavy equipment or step deck its not easy making lemonade easier said than done for sure.

There's a video floating around of a guy who had a steer tire blow at 60mph...not only destroyed the fender/bumper but obliterated the power steering reservoir and the brake can/air line. So he had no steering and no brakes. Trailer started to come around on it and he caught it and got it safely stopped on the shoulder. Watching the dash cam was wild.

Condolences Justin! 🙏I haul cement in Ohio and some of our trailers have a build up of cement stuck to the inside walls of the air can. Makes them weigh 1 or 2k more than other trailers. That could be what's up with that trailer. Really enjoy your conten, keep it up brother!!

That's why u must carry gorilla tape from Home Depot & rescue tape from truck parts store u could wrap it around that air bag till u got it fixed the next day or 2👍

Unless it's changed, if you purchased a new Kenworth with their engine, you got a Paccar engine that was similar to the engine used in Europe and if I am not mistaken it was similar to the one used in the European DAF, a division of Kenworth.

I just took those Toyo tires off my truck They were good for a while But when I got down to 12/32 I developed a shake at 65 I run centrimatics wheel balancers I switched to Bridgestone I also run 24.5 I also had same exact problem with Firestone FS591 Had alignment done complete front end check found nothing wrong

I know what you mean I change the oil in my truck I just feel like it runs better lol

Justin I'm driving a DAF here in Adelaide it's PACAR motor their big big issue is the electronics always problem with sensors which cause engine warnings which you can't ignore so lots of lost time it's a shame it's a good engine but all the add on electronics ,so I'm a CAT or series 60 Detroit fan ,also mate your a big guy I think you should be looking at bonnet,unit day cab ,I'm 6,3 and the DAF, got no where to stretch your legs ,but like most things today it's about what's available Cheers Kym Adelaide
