I suppose. But it seems to me like he only takes a bite or two of each poutine, so even though it's excessive in terms of salt and fat, it doesn't appear to me like anything to be alarmed about.

Kuro Neko so what you’re looking for is this type of restaurant called “casse-croûte” they’re basically little mom and pop restaurants on the side of the highway when you’re going outside of Montreal they serve great classic poutines, burgers, hot dogs etc. and they are found in a lot of these little town around Montreal (and even in Montreal) like st jovite, st Jerome, st Adèle (And there are so many more...)

I also live in Texas and I travelled to Montreal a couple years ago and went into one of these corner deli poutine pizza shops near the farmers market and I told the proprietor that this is the first poutine of my life so it's a lot of pressure it better be good. And after he served it to me he came and sat at the table with me and talked with me about how my experience was lol.... it was pretty good. I wish this dish was more widespread.

This is my third time watching this video. I am concerned for myself. Why do I love this video so much? I've never eaten poutine and yet I yearn for it.

Native Montrealer here. This video brought joy to my soul. I recognized just about every location. I think this is the first time I've seen a food show come do an episode about poutine and really get it right. You also highlighted the city beautifully. Well done!

There's a Portuguese chicken place right across the block from la Banquise called Ma Poule mouillée. They do an awesome poutine that includes their fire roasted chicken, sausage, and spicy piri piri sauce. If the place isn't on fire then its a great alternative to go to!

Aww yeah ! There is so many good and fancy poutine out there ! Ma Poule Mouillée is definately one of the best stop when you want a poutine, but a little bit more at the same time :)

Just in front of La Banquise, there's a portuguese restaurant called Ma Poule Mouillée and their poutine is incredible. The sauce, the crispy fries, the chicken, the chorizo and the cheese are to die for!

i looooooved poutineville...went to montreal to visit a friend, stayed there for 8 days, went three times to poutinville!!! wish i had more of that delicious thing!!!

@@imarockstarification Exactly, poutineville is decent but no more than that, I'm way happier he did belleprovince and lafreur over poutineville.

I prefer well done fries. Very nice when the gravy soaks in to them and they still have texture.

Every Canadian in the chat collectively will tell you to get poutine when in Canada. My favourite poutines come from chip trucks though. Not an actual restaurant

That would have required him to hit Frites Alors, but the Vladimir would have been disqualified, being a not-basic poutine. Absolutely delicious tho.

I had the poutine at La Banquise. We waited an hour on line but it was soooo good!

While you're in Montreal you might as well do a smoked meat sandwich episode

If y'all want to get real technical the lobster roll was invented in Connecticut. So sure Boston makes them too. But the best lobster and lobster roll you can get is in Maine.

Can you guys give Gaby her own show? She's so sweet but i only see her in the background or in very short clips. I'd love to see her make some Argentinian dishes!
