All of the final hands on previews have given me the impression the new SR is a mix of the more grounded games where SR started and the extreme elements of where the series ended up. If true, that's good enough for me. I wasn't expecting the next evolution of open world gaming. There is a lot of hate being manufactured around this game for various reasons, but in the end it doesn't matter. Saints Row was never a game meant for the masses, and this new one looks to continue that trend, for better or worse.

It looks fun. Customisation looks far superior. The origins of the Saints story seems odd as the weapons seem wackier/futuristic.

@@stealthbastard8837 I dunno... I see SR2 as the best game of the series, and even I am looking forward to this. Yeah, I can definitely see what people say about the characters being cringy... I THINK the characters are cringe... but I can also see that they might develop them beyond the cringe through the game. I don't think this is going to unseat SR2 as my favorite, but I don't think this is going to be as terrible as a lot of other Old School fans think. I also think there are a lot of ways they could make a sequel to this even better. We'll see what happens.

I wish when you're doing a take down, they would make the other AI who are shooting you to look like their guns are malfunctioning or they need to reload and are stumbling.. that way it doesn't look so stupid watching them just watch you kill their team 😂

That's the thing, In previous saints row other enemies would actually hurt you in take-downs, though I think they can't kill you

Not a big fan of quick time events... But that whole series of having to force your boss awake, and trying to toast "Your lonely waffle" did give me a chuckle and put me in the mind of something you might see in SR2.

Legit, I think that sold me on what they're going for.

Ian should not be allowed near a character creator ever again.

I mean, I don't want to be that guy, but between the physics, the ragdoll effects, the graphics, the fire effects, explosion effects... Looks like it's from a 2015-2016 game at best.

Love your sense of humor. That's exactly how I like to play these style of games.

That music festival scene looked so dead I thought it was a refugee camp that had embraced bisexual lighting. There need to be more NPCs in this game, it's just EMPTY.

You said we were worried it would get boring. That's not true at all. It got boring in the third game and even more so in the fourth. The issue is they based those game's main gameplay on stories we told them about while we played with the many loose mechanics in saints row 2. They made the games accordingly while not providing so many loose gameplay tools for us to imagine up so much wild fun with. The call to go back to the older games was also because the game had really good stories that never wrapped up. The current development team openly disses original fans while actively showing us they aren't even aware of what the original two games have that we liked so much. The live stream might still be up on their channel. They hired the mod author for the popular mod "Gentlemen of the row" the last hope for the series I'm guessing. They watched him play Saints Row 2 with the mod active and would ask him questions about cool Content they saw in the game. His answer frequently was "that was already in the game" Go back a few years to the showcase of saints row 4 where the devs get frustrated that they had to answer no to so many questions about the game. One finally says "You don't have to buy our game" so yeah, very little faith that this one will work out.

That MC lady? with the beard and southern accent is honestly one of my favourite characters of all time, they need their own series

What do the achievements look like?

It's a shame they didn't bother building a new engine or even really doing much to expand on the same engine. No world persistence. Very limited destructible environments. Just looks like more SR3.

It’s using a heavily modified version of the game engine used for Agents of Mayhem, which in turn was using a heavily modified game engine reused from SR3 and SR4.

That was my first thought 😂 no offense to anyone excited I don’t wanna be a Debby downer but I need something new sr3, sr4, and gat outta hell are literally the same game and now they’re just doing that same style again? Just seems lazy that and the story are the biggest contributors to me not buying this game until I actually see full gameplay

Climbing the nuke was pretty stupid but very epic 😅

Most Games that center around cars - (GTAV/GTAO, Watch Dogs2, and SR2/3) had some level of customization.

I'm expecting some good entertainment here - Saints Row has always been able to make me laugh!

Gore would have been cool but I'm still getting this and I can't wait.

agreed man ... I'm all for taking over the city in a gang, but the stupid shit I'm seeing in the few yt videos today is not what I was hoping for..

I'll wait a bit longer and buy a pre-owned copy as I only play single player games now, online sucks

Game looks so freaking good! Cannot wait to play it!! Glad this isn't the final retail build and all the bugs and empty locations should be fixed on the final build. At least I hope.

I've been on board with this reboot since it was first announced and I've just wanted it to be good I pre ordered it last year and I am looking forward to it but lack of things to do outside of story and activities and the lack of NPCs in the world worry me so does that stuff with with the train I know it's a small thing but it just looked awful in still hyped for this game but this preview and a few others have damped my hype

I definitely needed to be convinced of how good this game was going to be, and you're right, there are a lot of small things that are off. I do believe I have heard that there should be a day one patch released when the game comes out, and hopefully that fixes a lot of the small things.

I look forward to the co op

The thing that concerns me the most is the fact that Volition pushed the release date back 6 months and I'm still seeing a lot of bugs and animations that need more polish smh Besides that it looks really fun, but this game might not be ready for release just yet 🤔

Saints row 2.. thats the best one for me. Full open world jammed with fun awarding side jobs. Hopefully this one gets to be as good but better looking.

Yeah go play gta story mode all kinds of ppl or red dead 2 they feel more alive open worlds only work when u have this big map with areas that are barren when we should have ppl .. n the shooting mechanics are awful

Number 12: buy this game day one

The melee takedowns and melee combat in general looks like from the PS2 era. They managed to find the perfect balance of not being serious enough to feel realistic or brutal, while also not being extreme enough to be comedic. If feels as if they couldn't figure out which direction they wanted to go, and they ended up missing both marks.

GTA 4 , I really wish they'd put that one on ps store , so I can buy it 💯 , I don't know why or what happened to it , it's Easley one of the best absolutely immersive games with so much you can do other than missions especially for the GTA franchise I just don't know why it's disappeared it's being talked about I kind of have this gut feeling that Rockstar might be doing something with it but there's not much to do with it that's not already beautiful as it is I mean what more could you do to a really totally perfect game GTA 4 💯🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Yeah SRTT is definitely overrated considering a good portion of the “story missions” are just doing the side content/activities and with one or two exceptions doesn’t really get going until you’re already halfway done with the game, and the story that is there just isn’t very good. It’s an okay time but nothing close to the original 2.

This is going to be a hard pass for me....I loved the old SR. But this Hipster Edition Saints Row just isn't for me

Looks great, but it's a shame they don't have any blood decals in the game, just the puffs when you shoot people. Someone'll hopefully mod it in post-release though.

I think SR3 looks better personally, less high fidelity for sure - but the stylised comical look suited it well imo.

I've never played a saint's row game, I'm eager to give this one a try.

Lol. CARnage. While I enjoy the stupid and absurdity of it (eggplant is a nice touch 😆). But yea, I truly hope this is just “early build” textures and emptiness. We’ll see.

It looks like a poor man's version of GTA but way less good. WAY LESS.

I'll start by saying I enjoyed the video 👍 This game looks so bad though. I was super hyped for this and it just looks empty and bland. The physics seem both really good and absolutely terrible at the same time. For me I'll get this when it inevitably goes on sale.

Looks like an indie game

Everyone crying because it's not saints row 2 needs to realise that the series was never gonna go back to that level. It's fun if you take it as its meant to be, a reboot. This is not the original saints. This is not the original street gang set up. This is something different. If you can let go of the idea that this was ever gonna go back to the original saints roots and take the game for what it is, a fun crime sandbox in a new city, its a good game. Give it an actual chance and you'll see its a decently fun game

Until they fix the character creation in this game.. I'm not touching it.

See with GTA IV you can eat the hot dogs you can just roam around on the streets eat hot dogs go to a movie that was actually good go to The comedy catch club and watch iconic comedy shows like that were really good and then some , GTA v of course yeah you can drink your little drink in your house you can smoke weed and that's pretty damn cool that was immersive you know but other than that there was nothing else to really do on the outside world other than just driving missions I mean movies in the theaters in GTA v or just ridiculously dumb the TV you know they had some pretty good shows on the TV but GTA IV was just the one man, but this one only in the cutscenes I guarantee you're going to be able to go to the refrigerator and actually immerse yourself in a home I just don't know I'm going to really and truly I'm going to wait for a while until other people play and post their videos and talk about it

15:00 as someone with training in how to use a real AT-4.... it's not just the exploding rocket.. The propellant on those things is able to inflict severe burns to anyone or anything behind you. when you fire.

Yeah, they would burn the hell out of their legs if they fired it prone from there belly if they didn't fire it perpendicular to themselves... but come on... it's a VIDEO GAME, in SR2 you could fire an RPG from INSIDE a vehicle if someone else was driving, how realistic is THAT supposed to be? At least we're back on earth, this city looks much better than Steelport, and the humor does seem to be closer to SR2 rather than the grade school potty humor of SRTT and SRIV... even if the humor is very "current gen" at times.

@@BU1Lander yeah, games often have "issues" with people programming games who don't know how weapons actually work. :p Like how some games have only 4 kinds of ammo for all of the guns in the entire game.... Protip... AK-47s and M-16s don't use the same ammo... at all... ever...

@@BU1Lander hahaha, yeah really. trying to be too realistic in games can create MASSIVE problems for players. Like in RDR2... accidentally trampling pedestrians while on horseback is stupidly easy.... easier than IRL. They tried to properly model damage to people who you run into while on horseback... but they DON'T model pedestrian behavior as accurately. So you can have pedestrians just wander in front of you while you're on a horse...and get trampled to death.

You're speeding along in a car somewhere, and at times, even though you're not really very close to them, they start jumping out of your way... of even better, at times they jump IN FRONT of you... Completely unrealistic, but still never fails to give me a giggle.

Pretty sure nobody wanted the game to be silly ww all just wanted saints row one and two back

This game needs at The Least another year for development. Enhancing the npc counts, destructibility that was in Red Faction, having that punch behind weapons upon impact, having multiple buildings to enter and explore, environment enhancements, a city that’s lively, vibrant, and doesn’t feel like a shell but that “wow” feeling. Being an OG since Saints Row 1 Demo I want nothing but the best, this is the steps they should take into improving the game, they finally have the foundation, they just need to add on top of it to make it solid, which I know won’t happen unfortunately but hey I guess GTA 6 in another 10 years right? Lol

Liked your video ... the gameplay ... not so much. ... it'll likely come out on gamepass for us xbox players at some point in which case I'll try it but I don't think I'll spend the money to buy it.

I gotta say, I'm only marginally interested in this Reboot. The main reason I'm rather ambivalent is no Laura Bailey voicing the boss. I have no doubt the current crop of voice actors do a fine job, but she has never not been the voice of the Boss for me. Her delivery of "Holy shit! BURT F*CKING REYNOLDS?!" in SR3 was *chef's kiss*. . Also the lack of giant purple dildo bats is just the final straw!😜 . I'll get around to it at some point, I expect, but getting this game is not quite a priority for me. I'm happy for now to keep replaying SR3 & SR4. 😁🍆
